Hi fellas, I am thinking of buying 2006 model SLK for 70% for my wife and 30% i will drive. Wanted to know some known problem or possible technical issue with this year model after 7 years? Though I am on shoestring budget, but if i get good deal then i might upgrade to 2007 (chances are slim), so wanted to know if there is any big difference in 2006 or 2007 which makes it worth the stretch or i am good with 06 model within in my reach? Any help is highly appreciable guys. Thanks in advance.

I am planning to buy 2006 model E200 Kompressor for 40000 dhs with 82k kms on the clock, seen the car and test drove it and couldn't find any problems, or dashboard lights. It seems very clean and also have partial service history from Gargash (Mercedes dealer in Dubai). Appreciate to hear any known issues with year model or heads up in checking car with more details. I 100% agree with mmike reply. All coolants are premixed and there is no need to mix any further. Coolant in hot country help in by not evaporating at 100+ degree which water will.....!

Brake and horn issue is a loose connection. About compressor which one you are mentioning: Brake booster compressor or AC compressor?

I truely dont see any point behind Jasan advise, but its a minor DIY tip so i wouldnt mind doing it to keep myself happy with my car bit of TLC.

Every wiper has motor attachged to it from back side. Its right under wind screen ends. You can swap both motors by yourself and check if its reversing the slow wiper. If it thhen change the faulty motor. If you cant do it, then take it to any mechanic and he can swap those in less than 30 mins. More than likely its the motor which is faulty.

Just wondering, how its possible. Isnt AC compressor is running with engine power???? Are you talking something else?

You need to change the hand brake - Brake Pad thats it. Its separate than main brake pads. I think on G wagon it has hand brake on axle, not too sure though.

Which E class mercedes you need to know? Approx are in the range of 1200 - 1600kg. Go to wikipedia, its easier to find such techy info in a flash.

Around JLT, i can advise you to go and visit Al qoz area. There is MAX garage in Al quoz 04 3408200. Also roam around in Al quoz and you will get other good garage's too. Al Quoz is behind MOE, little further down dubai side if you coming from JLT. If you willing to come to rashidiya, then Mercedes R us is also good (04 2852800) As S600 owner you should have a deep pocket as its spares are quite expensive compare to other Merc. My very old friend had once 2001 model S600 and he used to bitch and moun on every service.
