  13. Hi Bianca Good luck with your drive. I hope you have read our Banner message that we aren't supported or affiliated with Nissan or any of their dealers in the region here. So your chances are quiet slim to get any advantage or reply from Nissan ME from this post here. But being a Nissan enthusiast you are truly in a right place for seeking any help in planning your drive. I am sure you must have planned so many things for this drive but always make sure to carry plenty of consumable spare parts that you might need on following kms service intervals. Or research if countries you are passing thru have same Patrol like GCC specs there. Diff lock and other recovery tools is good to have in your back pocket, but not really must unless you go serious off road (Sand / Mountains), for tarmac drive healthy and maintained engine is KEY for this type of drive to keep you rolling. Good luck with your drive. As a Nissan Dubai owners community we are happy to welcome you and support you. Cheers.

  16. The 350Z proved a hugely popular two-seat sports car around the world, so Nissan was highly unlikely to radically adjust the formula for its successor. Unsurprisingly then, the 370Z is more of an evolution of its predecessor, with the major difference being in the larger engine reflected in its new name. Aside from that, the exterior has had a redesign although despite the new boomerang-shaped headlights, its shape will be immediately recognisable to 350Z fans. The car has also been extensively re-engineered from the 350, thanks to lightweight aluminium parts that aid handling and improve fuel economy. The 370Z is built for performance, not practicality – as such, there are no rear seats and the boot is less than massive. Power comes from a 3.7-litre V6 engine that makes 328bhp and is attached to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The gearbox has a feature called Downshift Rev Matching, which gives the engine a ‘blip’ when changing down a gear to keep the shifts and smooth as possible. Paddle shifters behind the steering wheel allow for manual gear changes when wanted. Available equipment includes a push-button start, sports seats and Bluetooth phone connectivity, as well as a Bose audio system, which includes a six CD changer and an auxiliary input socket for MP3 players. Satellite navigation and leather seats are also available. Safety features include VDC (electronic stability control) and front, side and curtain airbags as standard. A convertible version, called the 370Z Roadster, is also available. It features a folding soft-top roof which is stored in the boot space, reducing luggage space to 139 litres instead of 235 litres in the coupe. A range of official accessories are available for the 370Z from Nissan’s motorsports division, Nismo. These include a bodykit and spoiler, stiffer suspension for improved cornering and a sports exhaust. SOURCE: http://automiddleeast.com/2010-nissan-370z/
  17. The Altima is Nissan’s mid-size car, available in both sedan and coupe forms and as such pitched largely against Honda’s Accord. The Altima name has been used since 1993, but the most recent incarnation was introduced in 2007. The sedan is pitched as a practical, five-seater family car while the Coupe is a much more sporty affair. For 2010 the sedan was given a facelift, with a new fascia and headlights, new wheels and a revised interior. Two grades of sedan are available – S and SR, each of which feature different engines. The S comes with a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder unit that produces 179bhp while the SR comes with a 3.5-litre V6 making 270bhp. Both are mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Features include Bluetooth phone connectivity and an Intelligent Key, which lets owners open and start the car without removing the key from their pocket or bag. The Coupe is shorter and lower than its four-door sibling and is powered by the 3.5-litre V6 engine, although its sporty aspirations are slightly numbed by its use of the CVT rather than a regular automatic or manual gearbox choice. The 2010 Coupe has received a redesigned face inspired by the Maxima. It’s available only in SE trim, which rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and comes with a push button start, Bluetooth and a Bose sound system. Safety-wise, the Altima scores well with ABS, traction control, electronic stability control and electronic brakeforce distribution standard on all models. 18. When King Philip II of Spain tried to invade England in 1588, he used a huge flotilla of ships called an armada. It was a giant attack force designed to strike terror into the hearts of anyone that saw it approaching. Stand next to the Nissan Armada and you might see the comparison, for this road-going SUV is as big as vehicles come without becoming trucks. It competes with behemoths like Toyota’s huge Sequoia, and will seat up to eight on three rows of seats. The seats can be arranged in myriad ways and all except the driver’s chair will fold flat for multiple luggage/passenger options. There are also plenty of storage spaces, reflecting the car’s likely use as a family car. There are cubby holes overhead and under-floor storage in the boot, as well as a standard electrical plug socket for things like mobile phone chargers. Rather than relying on sails, the Armada gets its thrust from a 5.6-litre V8 engine that puts out 320bhp. That might sound like a lot, but remember that the Armada weighs more than three tonnes, so don’t expect face-melting acceleration. The motor is attached to a five-speed automatic gearbox that drives all four wheels. Two models are available – mid-level SE and the top-of-the-line LE. Standard features include rear-parking sensors and a powered tailgate – useful to those not tall enough to reach the boot lid when it’s open. Options include Nissan’s Intelligent Key, which allows the Armada to be opened and started without removing the key from a pocket or bag. A rear-view parking camera, DVD entertainment system and Bluetooth phone connectivity can also be specified. Safety features include ABS, VDC (electronic stability control), brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution. Front, side and curtain airbags are available. 19. Everyone that knows anything about performance cars will have heard of the Nissan GT-R. It caused a huge amount of excitement in the months leading up to its release in Japan at the tail end of 2007. It arrived in the Middle East a year later 2008 and proved a hit thanks to its futuristic, aggressive looks and blistering performance, designed to take on the Porsche 911 Turbo. The GT-R is a coupe with four seats, although the back is best left to the limb-less or small children. Practicality is not the GT-R’s strong point, although it does possess a decent-sized boot and Nissan says it can quite easily be driven as an everyday car. The GT-R is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 engine that produces around 485bhp. However, as each engine is hand-built, the exact figure can vary from model to model. Gears are changed by a six-speed, dual-clutch transmission via paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. Technology plays a big part in the GT-R. It houses a complex four-wheel drive system and allows the suspension, transmission and advanced electronic stability control to be adjusted in the cabin and set up for any combination of comfort and performance. The in-car display – which shows information about the car’s engine, speed, fuel economy and even how much G-force is being pulled through corners – was designed by the same people that made the Gran Turismo racing game for the Playstation. The 11-speaker stereo was designed by renowned audio company Bose. A lighter, even more hardcore version of the GT-R was announced in 2009. The GT-R SpecV uses the same engine but is 60kg lighter than the standard car and has reworked suspension, improved brakes and comes only in black. It’s only available on order, with prices on application from Nissan dealers. SOURCE: http://automiddleeast.com/2010-nissan-gt-r/
  20. The latest Maxima is new for the 2010 model year and was introduced to the Middle East during 2009. It’s a four-door sedan that can trace its heritage back to the 1970s, with the current incarnation marking the seventh generation of the badge. Nissan touts the car as a practical family machine with a sporty edge and plenty of technology and features. The Maxima seats five and has a 402-litre boot, while features include dual-zone air conditioning, ambient lighting and a rear-view monitor for incident-free parking. Power comes from a 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 290bhp and driving the front wheels. The Maxima uses a continuously variable transmission (CVT) rather than a traditional automatic gearbox, although it does have a ‘manual mode’ using steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters if you want to feel like you’re shifting cogs. Two grades are available (in the UAE) – SV and SR – with prices starting at 113,500AED. Standard features include cruise control and a sunroof, front fog lights and parking sensors, while the top-level SR gets a spoiler, rear bucket seats and a powered rear sunshade. The seats can be upholstered in leather, and other features include the Intelligent Key, which lets owners unlock and start the Maxima without removing the key fob from their pocket or bag. Bluetooth phone connectivity, satellite navigation and a Bose audio system are also available. All models ride on 19-inch alloy wheels, while standard safety equipment includes ABS and electronic stability control, as well as traction control and electronic brakeforce distribution. Front, side and curtain airbags are also included, along with active head restraints to reduce the risk of whiplash injuries in a crash. SOURCE: http://automiddleeast.com/2010-nissan-maxima/
  21. The latest model of Murano arrived in the Middle East in 2009 and remains unchanged at the time of writing. A crossover SUV, it is firmly targeted towards on-road use and is unlikely to be much cop in the desert or wadis, despite its high ground clearance and 4×4 availability. The Murano has some striking exterior visuals and takes its name from a style of Venetian glass sculpting. Hence the look of the car is smoother and flowing than the rugged and chunky SUVs of old. Inside there’s room for five people and a decent-sized boot. The interior has a nod to luxury, with available leather upholstery and aluminium inserts around the cabin. Power comes from Nissan’s well-proven 3.5-litre V6 and puts out 256bhp. It’s mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that drives the front wheels. The Qashqai is also available with an All Mode 4×4 system that allows the driver to switch to four-wheel drive if the conditions dictate. Two versions of the Murano are available in the UAE – mid-level SL and top-spec LE grades. Available features include a powered second row of seats should you need to fold them flat for extra boot space, as well as 18-inch alloys, a Bose stereo and six CD changer. The rear seats will also recline for extra comfort when carrying passengers and a DVD entertainment system can be specified to keep those in the back amused. Safety features include dual front, side and curtain airbags, as well as ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution and brake assist, which provides the maximum available braking power in the event of an emergency stop. 22. The Pathfinder is an SUV based on the rough and ready Xterra but with more of a road going focus. That said, it still has aspirations of off-road performance with four-wheel drive and a high ground clearance. Seating seven, the Pathfinder is powered by the same 4.0-litre V6 engine that powers the Xterra but with a fraction less power – 261bhp against 270bhp. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox and drives all four wheels. Three version of the Pathfinder are available; the entry-level XE that rides on steel wheels, the mid-range SE shod with 16-inch alloys and top-spec LE, which comes with 17-inch rims and a sun roof. Other features across the range include numerous storage spaces, such as under the seats and under the boot floor. The second and third rows of seats fold flat to provide huge amounts of boot space while the tailgate has a glass hatch that can be opened to deposit small items inside without having to open the whole boot. Available options include dual zone air conditioning, satellite navigation, a DVD entertainment system and Bluetooth phone connectivity. Safety features include front, side and curtain airbags and active head restraints to help prevent whiplash in the event of an accident. ABS is standard, but VDC (electronic stability control) is only an option. The Pathfinder has been with us since 2005. An updated 2011 Pathfinder was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. It has a redesigned front end and an updated interior, but at the time of writing there was no word on when it would come to the Middle East. SOURCE: http://automiddleeast.com/2010-nissan-pathfinder/
  23. The Patrol is a bit of a legend in the Middle East, so the arrival of a brand new model for 2010 has caused a bit of a stir. Alongside the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Patrol is a favourite 4×4 among Middle East residents for its blend of comfort on road with proper off-road capability. Nissan has designed the seven-seat 2010 Patrol with the Middle East specifically in mind and most of the cars testing was carried out in the UAE, both on-road and off. The result is a large SUV that comes with a choice of two engines, with plenty of technology to make it more capable in the sand and more comfortable on the road. The entry-level Patrol LE comes with a 4.8-litre V8 engine with 320bhp, attached to a five-speed automatic gearbox, while the flagship SE has the same engine tuned to 400bhp, attached to as seven-speed gearbox. There are plenty of options packages available from dealers, so it’s best to check with them to see exactly what’s on sale when you want to buy. But as a rough guide to some of the technology available, highlights include a new Hydraulic Motion Body Control system that keeps the car level around corners and stable off road, as well as a All Mode 4×4, which enables the driver to change the vehicle settings depending on the surface being driven on. Cameras on the outside of the car provide a 360-degree view of the surroundings, while Intelligent Cruise Control is also available. Luxuries include full leather upholstery, satellite navigation, a fridge and Bluetooth phone connectivity. The previous model Patrol is also still on sale in lower specifications. 24. To save any problems at the dealer, the Qashqai is pronounced Kash-Kye. The crossover SUV was named after an Iranian tribe and aims to offer the practical benefits and space of an SUV without any off-road pretensions and with more streamlined, less aggressive looks. It boasts a high ground clearance and flared wheel arches and stands tall and roomy. Inside there’s plenty of space for a family of five, while there’s lots of storage space through a large, cooled 14-litre glove box and under-seat trays. Features include Bluetooth phone connectivity and dual zone air conditioning, while options include a chunky front styling plate, sidestep, front fog lamps and a roof spoiler. Rear parking sensors are also available. Three grades of Qashqai are available (in the UAE) – S, SE and LE. All are powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine producing 137bhp, attached to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). While the S rides on steel wheels, the SE gets 16-inch alloys and the LE sports larger 17-inch rims. The Qashqai is front-wheel drive as standard, although SE and LE customers can specify four-wheel drive if they want. Don’t harbour dreams of dune bashing in this Nissan though, it’s a part-time system that will drive the front wheels most of the time, with power going to the rears if the car loses traction. Safety features include front, side and curtain airbags, as well as ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, which keeps the Qashqai stable in the event of an emergency stop. VDC (electronic stability control) is also available. SOURCE: http://automiddleeast.com/2010-nissan-qashqai/
