  1. Similar issues and experiences. The people who readily presume that the clutch is perfect and all the drivers are maniacs don't know what they are talking about. I have driven standard transmissions for 45 years and on some of which I put considerable mileage and never burnt out a clutch until I got my Xterra. I know enough not to ride the clutch so I have to conclude that the clutch is too weak for the 4 wheel drive. The clutch does not hold up and is definitely a weak spot. It should be considered to be a part of the drive train.
  2. Lol @ Black ... thats actually smart. I don't know if everyone can afford to do that though and then there are some people like my brother ... he wants to own one GOOD car all his life.
  3. No offence but certain margin for error? Playing with peoples' lives and money? Lawsuits? ... A new transmission? A new radiator? No recalls? No warranty coverage? Solid and reliable? Of course you wouldn't whine my friend ... unless of course the same was to happen to you. You don't understand how much trouble I have been through because of my car - financially and otherwise. Not to mention the everyday errands I had to deal with without my car.
  4. Thanks a lot man, for quick help. Will keep you posted of how it goes.
  5. Dear blackArmada_DXB, I understand what you said and i don't mind you asking me so many questions as you intend to help as precisely as possible in a meaningful way, than others. It seems you have very good technical knowledge on Cars and Nissan as such. Its really nice to have person like you present who can help discussing the problems. Actually when this problem started i was away and my wife was occasionally driving the car. On my return i did exactly what you said and drove the car to my mechanic and made sure all the fluids, oil, coolant and everything is topped up and in good health. My mechanic advise me that it looks like transmission is getting bad, only alternate is to rebuild it (close to 3k) or buy used one at same price of 2.5k to 3.5k dirhams. May be i should get the whole transmission oil flush with Royal Purple Max ATF as you advised and see if it helps, before diving in for rebuild or refurbish transmission. Any idea where i can buy this Royal Purple Max ATF in Dubai? Thanks for wonderful explanation and all the help.
  6. OMG!! this is ridiculous. my power terrain warranty would not even cover it if it really is a radiator issue. i guess i am just about done with Nissan. so much for the wife's advice.
  7. hi friends. i have a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder. a few months ago the transmission started getting a little sticky but i didn't take it too seriously. then it got increasingly harder to shift gears. now shifting gears requires more strength than an arm-wrestling match not to mention the terrible shuttering sound it makes. my research tells me i am heading towards a total transmission failure. have any other Pathfinder owners ever had this problem? any suggestions?
  8. I am looking for best suitable treys for nissan titan and i am seeking advises for it please.
