  1. Welcome @Radhika. A very happy advanced birthday greeting to you. Never knew you shared your birthday with UAE. I am not much of a wadi person, but appreciate the knowledge of @Jeh when it comes to wadis. I have done one wadi drive with @Jeh which took us through Wadi Shawka which is an hour drive from Dubai. We then headed to the Hatta pools which was amazing place for families, however not sure about camping and BBQ. @Jeh if you can share insight on camping and BBQ in the Hatta Pool area. https://carnity.com/gallery/category/67-hatta-wadi-drive-lake-kayaking I also remember doing Wadi Shawka with Gaurav bhai, wonderful place for families, bonus was the hidden track to the side where they store the water. @Gaurav bhai maybe you can share the track. I'm sure camping and BBQ would be fine as @waqaszohair and his wife served up some absolutely delicious chicken BBQ. https://carnity.com/gallery/category/4-wadi-shawka-3-march-2017
  2. @Olivier Refalo thank you for being honest and looking forward to some arrangement in the back to tow you out if need arises. Hope to see you soon.
  3. @Emil it will be really sad that you will not be able to make it. We look forward to seeing you again soon. @Olivier Refalo as @skumar83 said we do not leave anybody behind. It will be difficult if you do not have rear tow hooks, on my Jeep Commander 5.7 Hemi I did not have rear tow hook also, but there was a space to attach a tow ball where I could fit the shackles. Please confirm and let us know if there is any space to attach shackles in the back?
  4. I think the secret is being involved in the community and sharing. It could be anything car related. Verified car news, pics in the Gallery or just directing someone to the right direction even if you do not know about the subject yourself. Hope this helps.
  5. Seems unbelievable as most limited number cars I've come across have a plate and certificate that comes with the car showing which number they were manufactured. So if they produce 500 cars they would be numbered from 1 to 500 which would be embossed on a plate and stuck near the dash board along with a certificate. These are not duplicated and if they were to produce say 500 cars only you would not see number 501. So I can't imagine manufacturers making so much money and being cheap enough to pull a stunt which would ruin their reputation for future limited models.
  6. All the beat @Frederic Nuyttens will keep you in my prayers.
  7. @shadow79 is the expert with Camry, he can help you.
  8. With the season on and a Liwa drive closer than we can imagine, time to gear up to the challenge. Mentally and physically for us humans and mechanically sound for our machines. The video posted is by professionals and for advertisement purpose, should not be tried by anyone without all the preparation and help. They only show what is good about the car and a lot of sand splashing but not the complete picture. Still felt like sharing as it is one of our favorite terrain.
  9. Ohhhh. My wife's got one on her Pajero. She wants to know how much are you willing to pay?
  10. As the alarm rang I woke up to what was going to be an epic day. A quick wash up and preparation to head to what was going to be one of the best drives of the year. On the way saw some hot air balloons near the Sky dive centre. Waved hello to some old friends on the way and saw a bikers group before reaching the meeting point. But the fun was about to begin. As we met and started with a cup of tea. We headed to the deflation point, prepared ourselves for the drive and after a very brief brief we headed out. From what I felt @Asif Hussain had planned this very carefully and kept all eventualities in mind. All I can say is that there was non-stop action, from side slopping, to criss crossing, to climbing to the highest peaks, to driving cautiously through some nasty bumps and cross tracks, but mostly unspoilt smooth dunes. They say all good things come to an end, but this was just an interval where we headed to the closest mosque for Friday prayers, a light lunch with shots of tea courtesy @Asif Hussain, some fresh coconut juice and snacks courtesy @EmVarlet, some egg mayo sandwiches courtesy @Gaurav and mango juice courtesy @skumar83. As the break got over I had a smart remark asking Asif bhai if he was going to take us to Naqrah dune by road, to which Gaurav bhai replied just wait for Asif bhai has it planned. Soon we were on a ride of our lives, as Srikumar remarked morning was an appetizer only, the real deal came only in the afternoon. We made our way to the Naqrah Dunes in style as we flattened all razor sharp tops of every dune, as we criss crossed as if it wss meant to be done, as we side slopped all the way through an entire large dune. The journey to Naqrah Dunes was much more exciting than reaching our goal. Everyone has a go at climbing Naqrah dune from the front with limited success. We than decided to try from the back. As we headed towards the back and were reminiscing the last few times we visited it, Gaurav bhai's AT light came on, after a short break and a splash of water we got the AT temps go back to operational. But this was the least of our troubles as there was a large sound from Srikumar's vehicle with a puff of smoke. We all jumped to action and Gaurav bhai had his fire extinguisher ready and a spade full of sand. As we popped the bonnet and inspected the damage it was the AC hose that had given away to pressure. We had to plug in the holes to make sure no dust went in. We have made a resolution not to venture behind the Naqrah dune again As we have faced some incident every time in that area. As the sun started to set we found a nice dune to sit back, relax, reminisce some fond memories from the day with an Absolute spread. Departed, inflated and headed back home with plans for many more such adventures. I have added my few pics in the Gallery, looking forward to seeing everybody else's clicks. Till next time I bid you farewell.
  11. Unfortunately when genuine people like us need a proper mod to be done with all safety consideration we are sent back without permission. And just because some people are in a certain position and get permission they do these over the top mods where it catch fire after a roll like that. The roll is simply because this dude has mod the vehicle beyond his control. He was trying to throw some sand by trying to drift, but there was too much weight on the front left tire and no counter steer, thus the flip.
  12. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a tow bar? I have some sort of a tow truck.
  13. I had the Amaron installed on my Disco 1 which I used for 4 years and when I sold it the battery was still running strong. Maybe British vehicles use less battery.
  14. Wow, some people got a lot of time, money and imagination. Kudos to the builder.
