Running different brand of tires would also worry me as the weight of each tire company if different as per built quality and materials used even though they m8but be the same size.

Well worth the wait @baselsm83 you amazed me from the post, to the meetuo, to driving up to the deflation point, to your first briefing. To convoy numbering, to the most amazing lead in the area. I love the flavour of your drive bro. Looking forward to a lot more drives from you bro.

I'm really looking forward to Basel's drive tomorrow but need to leave early due to family commitments. I would like to request for all participants to be on time.

I sorry RD that information is factually incorrect. Octane reduces premature detonation otherwise know as pinging i.e can withstand more compression, its preferable in performance motors because of their high compression motors.
English please. I don't speak mechanic @desertdude

Nissan Pathfinder. Anybody lost. Hahaha.

The lower the octane level the more fuel is burnt, the higher the octane level more difficult to burn fuel. E plus has 91 octane, whereas special has 95 and super is 98 octane. Bigger engine needs higher octane to burn fuel slowly. If you use E plus than fuel is burnt quickly and at times will leave a knocking on your engine.
Just my 2 fils.

@Barry I don't feel it's sad to fight for your rights in any day and age. I feel sad for the reaction of a few people who instead of supporting to community and it's members try to discourage you and want you to forget about your hard earned money. Moreover take sides with such crooks who sell you fake or non working parts and then tell you hard luck, we are not going to refund your money or replace the part because it doesn't work out of the box. Even used spare parts have a few days guarantee of it doesn't work. Ridiculous.

Mabrook Gaurav bhai. You deserve it and you set an example for the rest of us. If you believe you're right, never give up. God helps those who help themselves.

Congratulations on your first drive post @baselsm83. Proud of you bro.

The unfortunate break down was mine, but it made me realize how fortunate I am to have such fabulous friends with so much patience. It took time and energy at the hottest hours of the day, and without any hesitation everybody had just one goal....how they could help me out.
It was not easy but with some great cordination and great team work we got my Pathy out of danger and onto some flat ground. To find the tools part of the team drive through some treacherous dunes at the peak heat to source the tools. Returned to realize the tools were useless and we needed spare parts and more tools. With the sun setting we left my Pathy and ride out with Gaurav bhai who with a smile handed his trusted Pajero to me.
The next day Saleem helped me to source and buy the parts and got the tools ready. Under the w8atchful eye of Gaurav bhai and his immaculate planning we met up and headed in. Everybody was soon at work and Saleem bhai was at his best. Not only did he manage to replace the spare part, but also did his best tire alignment possible in the middle of the desert with a rope so that I could drive back with no issues.
Hats of to Asif bhai for an excellent trip, which was well led and enjoyed by all of us. Looking forward to more such fun drives and experiences.

Let me know where to join you. I love BBQ. I could take care of your kids while you prepare BBQ for me. Hehehehe. BTW Zabeel Park is a great place for BBQ and control children.

Thanks @Gaurav for such a compehensive report. This will definitely save us from getting fake spare parts from one such crook. If you are free in the evening we can go to the Sharjah Police and try to lodge the complaint there. If they cannot help they should guide us in the right direction.

I had the Amaron battery in my land Rover Discovery for over 4 years and sold my Disco with the battery still working. I can vouch for Amaron.

Anybody knows anything about Consumer Protection, they seem to be the correct people to address this issue.

I have only 1 star. Time to give up on my Superman T-shirts. Haha haha.

Wow, what a trip report. @skumar83 you have won our hearts by posting your first trip, leading it with confidence, keeping in mind the different levels within the convoy and a beautiful trip report to follow.
We should thank you for being the first one to initiate a drive besides @Gaurav bhai and me. I was so happy to see @Atif bhai and @baselsm83 to join the convoy. I would encourage all who have been driving with us to post a drive each. We love to be able to enjoy different leads with different driving styles.
We did this area with Gaurav bhai before, but riding behind Sree has given a totally different feel. Until next time, thank you Carnity for offering such a wonderful platform to learn and grow with each other.

Wow Gaurav bhai. Cool video.

What can I say? Late for my own trip and now late to come out with the trip report. Bad habits are very easy to fall in to and very difficult to get out of.
To continue my heartfelt thanks to Gaurav Bhai, Basit Bhai and Saleem and their families for the patience. Reaching the top of Jabal Jais we saw a lot of changes and the number of people wanting to enjoy cooler weather on top, I had a chance to play a game with my family to guess what the weather would be on top. At the base of Jabal Jais the temperature was 39 degree, my guess was 34 degree, my sister in law was the winner with 31 degrees. That was a whole 8 degree cooler. that is amazing. Gaurav bhai's watch showed 24 degree when we finally left at 11 pm.
I would like to thank Basit for helping me with the BBQ, mother's are a blessing and the masala she used to marinate the chicken for BBQ has always gained praise from everyone. Sohini bhabhi also got loads of vege-burgers which were delicious and filling. The best aspect of this outing was loads of time to relax and sit around to enjoy the weather and chat.
I would like to thank 1 and all for the patience and an amazing time which my family thoroughly enjoyed.

Its that time when I recall the drive and try to live it again with my words. The drives so far have been so exciting that I do not need to think and type, this week was no different... Here goes...
So I misunderstood the meeting point, but more or less I reached on time, thanks to @Gaurav bhai who did not sleep to wake me up on time. My alarm did not work as well as a call from a brother who loves and cares so much about me. Once at the deflation point, besides the usual suspects we had a smiling and enthusiastic personality with us in @Atif bhai and his faithful Prado. After deflation and a briefing from Gaurav Bhai we started our ride Heading to Big Red, @Gaurav bhai was the first one to reach the top, @Asif Hussain was the next to try and could not reach the top from the front face. Next was @Atif bhai who made it to the top, I was surprised later when I saw he reached the top with his traction control still on. @skumar83 was also on top along with @baselsm83 , leaving me with the same fate as Asif Bhai. As usual I took the cheat route with Asif Bhai to reach the top after a couple of difficult crossings. This is where I realized that Atif bhai's traction was on and turning it off gave him a better feel for the rest of the drive.
Every one drove well and @Gaurav bhai chose the best possible terrain with @Atif bhai as it was his first time with us. A couple of refusals from @Atif bhai but remarkably he was able to get himself out of the sticky situations every time. At one particular situation he was able to slowly and with a lot of patience and an absolutely sound technique crawled himself out of some very long soft patch. As we headed from Big Red to Pink Rocks we had an amazing time. Upon reaching the top behind Pink Rocks we opened our coolers for some cold drinks and the croissants I got went along so well with the cutlets Asif bhai got.. Time for a surprise and a twist, Gaurav bhai wanted me to take lead and I just wanted a little more excitement due to last week Faqa drive. So after crossing Pink Rocks I saw some huge awesome dunes and somehow got pulled towards them.
Once on top of one I found some virgin dunes and before I knew it we were slipping, sliding and making our way trough those awesome set of dunes. At this point Gaurav Bhai pointed out that we were heading back to the Big Red. I slightly adjusted my route as I wanted to depart at Tawi Nizwa. After a good 45 minutes where we had even forgotten how hot it was getting we could see Tawi Nizwa shops in front of our eyes, to our surprise though we were going to be faced with the first real challenge for the day. There was now a fence and a road running through where we never expected the same. As we tried to find a break in the fence, Asif Bhai was teh one to find it, we headed in the direction of the main road which was blocked, so we turned around and drove for about 7 kilometers before we headed left to connect with the road heading to the Tawi Nizwa shops.
An inflation with a nice chat meant it was time to say Good Bye until next time. Thanks to @Atif bhai for sponsoring the inflation. over all an exciting day out with the best possible people, good food and great company. Thank you to all participants for the amazing time, loved every minute. Check the Gallery for my pics from the drive to get a better feel.

@Gaurav bhai. Amazing video, however just not justify the drive. The most amazing drive for me in around an year of driving. Had almost forgotten how wonderful this terrain is and how much fun we can have in that area on so many levels. Felt like I wanted to watch more, I did not stop rolling the Go Pro, ran out of battery twice and finally the memory got full as the sun went down.

With pleasure. We should never forget our roots. I started scared and not knowing how to put everything I learned to practice. But some very patient people stood by me and guided me through every step. This was not in exchange for money, only with an unsaid promise of being there for anyone who wants to learn.
