  1. Not a big fan of cars catching fire or exploding. That is someone hard earned money going up in flames. Really sad.
  2. Set of 4 used: Once Vehicle used: Mitsubishi Pajero 3.8 Number of years used: 3+ Years Value for money: 5 / 5 On-road comfort: 5 / 5 Off-road performance: 4 / 5 Overall Performance: 4 / 5 So it was time to go for a new set of tires for my wife's Mitsubishi Pajero and after a lot of research was in a lot of turmoil whether I should go for the Nitto Duragrapplers as tried and tested or a set of Kumho Solus KL21. Put the options to my wife and with the price point, she immediately jumped at the Kumho Solus KL21 set. I obeyed my wife and asked them to slap the Kumhos on, but deep inside I was waiting for them to fail and never thought that 3 years down the road and I would be writing a positive review on these. Kumho tires are a Korean brand and made in Korea so it makes you think twice about your investment. I drove them now for 3 years mostly on road except for a couple of occasions when I took them off-road in the sand for a short stint and here is what I think about the Kumho Solus KL21. On road they are really quiet and offer a very comfortable ride, they have a good grip on the road in all weather conditions and so far I have not seen any inconsistent ware in these tires. They have been on for 3 years with almost 70K Kms on the clock and I recently got them inspected, they always remained very smooth and quiet on-road and I now feel confident having them on as the tire shop told me there is quite a bit of tread left on them and no cracks at all. My main concern, however, came how it does perform off-road being a highway terrain tire? The honest truth is, being my wife's car I hardly took it off-road, but for what it is worth it performed well for a couple of short stints I was talking about earlier. The straight threads of a highway terrain help them float better in the sands, and they seem light (which is a big positive mark from the off-road side for stock cars). They have served me very well for over 70,000 kms so far and I am very pleased with their overall performance. They are still smooth, quiet and comfortable on-road even at 140 kmph and gives you good control with different maneuvers. In conclusion, I would only like to say, these are my first set of Kumho Solus KL21 on my wife's Mitsubishi Pajero and although I was not sold on these at the time of purchase these have most definitely impressed me. I am very happy to own the current set and feeling relieved that my wife had made such a great investment for the past 3 years and the remainder of the time to come. At the price point, they are very good performer on-road and very good value for money.
  3. Thanks for sharing @Keithryan. Hope you have a peace of mind now, With a Pajero you have to take everything with a pinch of salt, however in today's day and age it is more car for your money than any other brand in the market.
  4. Better check with Oman consulate to be sure or UAE immigration.
  5. @G.huz great share, we shout this from Newbie level and stress the importance as we have seen so many cases in our years. I can't say that specific Pathfinder needs any changes for the tow points. I was lucky to get mine from a friend who used it off road only once and it was properly protected against rust. Each car bought second hand must be checked for rust and corrosion as you never know how the previous owner has taken care of his ride or not. We try to take all precautions and that is why till a certain level we don't allow recoveries to be done by newbie or Fewbie level. Those observing the recovery should also be away from the radius of the rope. A sand bag is a good idea and in extreme recoveries we have used those or the sling to protect in case of breakage. So far Shukar Alhamdolillah there have been no such cases in the Carnity club and we would like to continue it that way.
  6. Looks mostly cosmetic with a heavy metal bumper in front which would be difficult to pass in RTA.
  7. Great write up @Javier M. This is definitely going to help lots of people around.
  8. @Fuad good decision, but before you make the purchase make sure it's in a fairly good condition and do share with us what mods you have in mind and share your homework with us as to what mods, what brand and why you opt for it.
  9. Excellent write up and at a great time @Frederic much appreciated.
  10. Not true, I can never get bored of a family that drives fancy fast cars they build rather than picking up from the showroom floor. Maybe they could have given it a Gone in 60 seconds twist. Agree it looks like a good action movie, but without the cars and Dom's family.
  11. @M.K congratulations on your promotion. It was a nice quick chat with you. Love the fact charley you are with WFP you guys are doing a great job and helping the community, thank you for joining our community. Looking forward to many more drives with you. Regarding the permission from home ministry, join the course for Ministry of foreign Affairs 101, will teach you some lessons and excuses to get away. Hope to see you again soon.
  12. Congratulations @Shamil. Heard so much about you from your first drive, looking forward to driving with you soon.
  13. Good share @eduardo. Maybe @Barry would be more qualified to comment on difference between repair and replacement. You don't have to get new steering pump, maybe @shadow79 can source one for you cheaper.

  16. I should add that it was in fact the feedback from the newbies who came to @Gaurav bhai and I to tell us how patient and gently @Srikumar has handled the situations which has further confirmed our decision of making him Marshal. True community spirit and a great contributor within the community.
  17. Well deserved Sri. Congrats for being the first ever Marshal in the Carnity club. I have noticed your confidence and transformation over these 2 years. From someone looking for an outlet from the daily life challenges and frustration to a cool, calm and willing to help team man who has developed with the patience not only to deal with developing newer people in the sport but also using the technique to come on top in all challenges in life. It is wonderful to have a friend, a brother, a true sporting person like yourself to drive with. Well done again Sri.
  18. Really glad you posted this video @Jeh. I normally used to think that older cars were more steady, heavy and we'll built but this changes my mind. I too drive an 18 year old and hope I will never face a bad crash.
  19. Love that song, I heard it after a long time, though I like the version Donkey sings in Shrek.
  20. @sertac you're losing your magic, you need to get yourself a ride and join us again. As rightly put by @Frederic and @Asif Hussain. He was too fast on his approach and instead of steadying himself first he turned right to fast to follow the car ahead and the drag force on the left wheels caused the flip.
  21. Well written @Frederic. @srini62 it's a pleasure to have you around. Good to see you jelling well with your FJ and discovering it well. See you this Friday again.
