  1. amity your spot on. I did make a decision today and it was the 3.5SL Gun Metal Grey and Beige interior! Sure I loose 20% efficiency but 20% of what? leader of the class! For the segment the V6 can compete with some 4 cyclinders.... but that is the number cruncher trying to justify the fact that I simply chose more power. I will be reminded every time I kick down the throttle that I made the right choice!
  2. hAwX don't complicate my life any further please!
  3. I asked both Dubai and Abu Dhabi (two different companies) and both didn't have leather on their 2.5 models. But for general information the #2 option (SV) in Abu Dhabi is far more impressive than in Dubai - also has SAT Nav. Dubai have an option for leather but it is not the Nissan made seats, just something from the local market, unlike the 3.5. Had they had the genuine leather for the 2.5 it would be a no brainer! But I think they want us to make that decision!! Knowing this, the 3.5 consumption is better than the Camry 4-cylinder! But I also didn't ask if they had plans to supply leather seated 2.5s. I will ask the dealers. I would not be impressed if they let that piece of information slip! I am willing to go a little over budget if there is value in the extra 10-15K. After all, it is a decision I will have to live with on a daily basis. Again, I need advice from someone who drove both... or someone that has experienced their comfort, fuel economy, etc.
  4. I am torn between the new Altima 2.5 SL and the 3.5 SL. Need advise on which to get. The 2.5 SL has the Fuel economy advantage of ~1L/100km; 20K dhs cheaper. The 3.5 SL has the power advantage and leather seating. Just concerned if I am actually getting 20K worth upgrading. Please help !!

  6. Hi all, We commute from Al Ain to Dubai 3 times a week, minimum. Looking for the best car for under 95K. We cannot buy a compact car as we tend to have guest from abroad - luggage and all. Mid-size Sedan and up! Looking for comfort, convenience, reliability and trouble less after sale services + best bang for my buck! I am only looking to buy new. Any advice? What car do you recommend and why?
  7. Listen, I have never heard of someone being happy with the price they got for their car when they sold it, used or new. After owning so many cars over the years I realized that the international brand name means only the level of quality that you will be purchasing. With warranties these days reliability is not an issue. And even after buying a Toyota you will feel great pain at the market when someone drives off with your car after gutting you. What matters is really (1) Your need/ purpose (2) The dealer. Buying a car these days is mostly down to (1) whether it does everything you need it to do and (2) it will do it for you with minimal troubles and that is where the dealer plays a big role. I remember when I bought a ford focus back in 2005, great cheap and convenient car, and every time I brought it down for service I felt like the workshop was reminding me that I baught one of their cheaper products, almost felt like it was my fault. On the other hand a Toyota service felt like a true social service where everyone was equal. So the dealer is a deal breaker for me personally simply because it is a long term relationship! due to warranty of course. The other thing is some brands are stronger here then they are abroad - point in hand NISSAN. I think they are strongest in the middle east and specifically here. Unlike their competitors you feel like their products are made for the UAE. Their cars are cruisers, fuel efficient (Sedans and compacts), and their A/C is outstanding, better than Toyota in my opinion. Just the fact that the steering is beige tells you a lot. They are firmer than a Toyota and they offer you that power that you need to navigate UAE traffic. this is not to say that the other out there are worse. They definitely are not. Just a matter of taste and value for money. Should you buy used? sure. But if you are here for the long-term go for a new car it will end up giving you less trouble through out. If your only here for a year or two then do not buy new. And that's my 2 cents.
