  1. Oh no, sorry to hear that @Tero Vallas! You will be missed. All the best to you and your family.

  3. Extreme Desert Drive Extreme Desert Drive is an extension of an Intermediate drive but at a lot faster pace with a continuous drive-time on big rolling and difficult dunes. The difficulty level of climbs, ridge riding, criss-crossing will be more or less the same as the Intermediate level, but doing that over and over again at high speed requires special attention to be courageous but with extreme caution. If you and your vehicle are perfectly in-sync with fast-paced intermediate drives without repetitive stuck, refusals, or losing track, and if you already have been promoted to "extreme" rank (no intermediate drivers will be allowed), then only you should consider joining. This drive offers the maximum adrenaline among all the types of drives and also demands a very experienced and sensible driver with a fully protected 4x4 vehicle. In such fast pace drive, it is highly recommended to drive alone without any passengers to avoid any distractions. Who can join: "extreme" only Disclaimer: The chance of damaging your vehicle is quite high in such fast-paced extreme drives, so please join at your own discretion. _________________ This drive is organized in full compliance with the COVID19 guidelines. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely. MUST READ AND TOTALLY AGREE: COVID19 Precautions MUST READ AND TOTALLY AGREE: BAN POST Two Way Radio Guidelines Every Offroader brings his own radio, programmed to the frequencies described in below advice topic. We will not share spare radios or program your radio on the drive. If you need assistance in programming the radio, post a topic on the Carnity website with your questions and we will help you out. Make sure your radio is fully charged. It will be your only way of communication while driving. Before buying, please carefully read below advice so you are informed properly on which model / cost / shops... No radio = No drive. 4. Then forget my message @Super Safari Girl, you had it engaged, all good then.
  5. @Super Safari GirlI checked with @Mario Cornejo and he confirmed that there should be a 4LO signal on your dashboard when you switch to low gear. It seems that for a reason it wasn’t engaging this morning on your Patrol.
  6. Actually it was your Super Safari mate @Mario Cornejo 😁 It’s been a sweet and fun drive, with an excellent convoy, thank you all! @Super Safari Girl, @Glenn Waters ,@Mohamed Samaco, @M.Seidam. Everyone did so great that we’ve been able to increase the pace and difficulty quite high for an absolute newbie drive. Special thanks to Glenn for his perfect second lead and Mohamed Seidam for his wonderful support as sweep. Moving forward you all will be joining the Newbie drives and not an Absolute Newbie drive. Drives are announced every Sunday at 11 am, and they go live on Sunday at 7:10 pm. Due to the high demand, these drives get full in about 10 minutes, so please be online at 7 pm to book your spot. If you miss a spot, put your name on the waitlist asap. Generally, by Thursday with dropouts everyone does get a spot if they have waitlisted. For the next drives, please bring along a deflator, pressure gauge, flag and radio as a minimum. Learn to deflate your tires and checking them precisely Learn to fix a flag on your car Learn to program and fully charge your radio Also like I mentioned during the debriefing, join the Carnity Whatsapp Drive Notification to get the latest updates on the drives, so that you can RSVP on time for the next weekend's drive. Please have a look at below topic which describes the tools needed for every level. There is a separate tutorial inside which explains which radio we recommend and how to program them: (Please do not buy the Baofeng 888S spare radio we gave you, as these cannot be programmed without a special cable and software). Please have a look at below grading structure that explains various off-road levels: See you soon in the sands!
  7. Is that you @Super Safari Girlwho crossed in front of us at the dirt track entrance?
  8. Unfortunately it’s less than 8 inches. We just talked with Haris now. Sorry @Haris Ruzdic. Hope to see you with a new ride soon...
  9. @Haris Ruzdic, welcome to Carnity. I see on your profile that you drive a Nissan Pathfinder. Could you let me know if it’s the classic Pathfinder (R51) or the new shape (R52)? Could you also tell me: 1. Do you have any prior off-road experience? 2. Can you confirm your vehicle has front and rear towhooks / eyelets in good working condition?
  10. @Clay Neddo Welcome! For the absolute newbie drive only we have spare radios for attendees who don’t have one. Regarding the recovery gear, it’s also not needed. You will have to bring a shovel (only a shovel) for your first regular newbie drive, which means your next drive. You didn’t tell me: 1. Do you have any prior off-road experience? 2. Can you confirm your vehicle has front and rear towhooks / eyelets in good working condition? @AbuNar I’m sure you’re ready.
  11. @AbuNar I’m sorry, absolute newbie is only for the first drive with Carnity. Aren’t you excited to move to the next level?
  12. Welcome! You didn’t tell me: 1. Do you have any prior off-road experience? 2. Can you confirm your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks / eyelets in good working condition? @Mohamed Samaco, @AbuNar, @FARAZ MOHAMMEDI just noticed that you already attended the absolute newbie drive, so I have to remove your signups from this one. Please sign up for a Newbie drive.
  13. Welcome to Carnity Off-Road Club @Super Safari Girl, @Mohamed Samaco, @AbuNar, @Glenn Waters! In preparation for this drive, it is important that you inform us if: you have any prior off-road experience; your vehicle has front and rear tow hooks / eyelets in good working condition. Before the drive, you will need to have viewed the introductory video (link above) and to have gone through the COVID19 precautions and agreed by clicking on the "totally agree" emoji at the bottom of the text in the following link : Please also make sure you are equipped with a tire deflator and a tire pressure gauge (sometimes they are all in one tool). You will need these. If you have an off-road flag as well that would be great. In case you do not have a flag mount on your car, you may look for a flag with suction cups, which can be easily placed on one of the rear windows. If you have your own air compressor, please bring it along. All these items should be available at any ACE or Speedex store, as well as at Dragon Mart. Regarding the area of the drive, we will access the desert from a less used entry point, along the road going from Qudra Parking (where you can use the ADNOC gas station to fill up your tank), toward the Bab al Shams Resort. Follow carefully the Google Maps directions: once you turn off the tarmac road (after circling a roundabout next to a mosque), you will cross an opening through roadworks being done along the bike track. Once arrived at the meeting point, we'll conduct a final inspection of your cars (sufficient clearance and accessible tow points are a must). Following a technical briefing, we'll be ready to enter the dunes, and start your off-roading adventure. This area is rarely used by other clubs, and the sand is much cleaner and smoother, so this is an ideal ground to move your first steps in the desert. For further questions, please contact me on this thread. In the meantime, have a great week!
  14. Congrats adrenaline junkies 😜 @Ahab Shamaa, @Francois Germishuys, @Ilya, @Christian Andras, @Craig Finlayson, @Jorge Stepniak Felippe, @Kalahari, @Shaaz Sha and @Tero Vallas! You all deserve this promotion.
