For Xterra you don't need manual gearbox. Automatic as well good enough to do whatever you need.

I used to have XJ 2000 model GCC Auto. I have one word about this car. DONT. It was the most fun car i have ever had but no never again. Unless you are super rich or you yourself able to work as mechanic. When i see this picture all i see is financial mistake.

Off Roading season is started. It will be hard to find a nice clean one. Many will be sold in hours. Stay in hunt. Check dubizzle, car switch, yalla motors, facebook market 10 times in a day. Once you find a nice one jump on it before anyone else. Normally good time to buy an off road car is summer.

If the issue can be fixed you can always take your mechanic with the required parts and tools and get your car fixed at the spot. Otherwise there are companies who does off road recovery, which is expensive.
