  3. Haha I had forgotten about that. Yes, dig the same spot , let gravity do the work for you. Thanks for the help when we needed shovelling. also sorry for constantly confusing you with Omar 🤦🏻‍♀️
  4. Drive Report We met promptly at 2pm at the Fort in Lisailli , everyone deflated, fixed their flags and after a short briefing we were headed along the track that would lead us to the dunes. The beginning of the drive was a fairly tame route and it allowed everyone to get used to their desert wheels as we made our way to a small technical patch. Once at the technical patch we had a couple of stucks, which were easily handled with some digging. I have to say I was very impressed by how the convoy handled the technical dunes, it is a different type of challenge but a very worthwhile one. As we exited the technical area the wide open long range dunes of Lisailli opened out in front of us. As is always the case with Carnity drives we try to push you as much as you will allow us at each level. We had a small slide sloping tutorial and I watched avidly as each member of the convoy completed the side slope with aplomb . I pushed the side slop level a little more, and again watched as our newbies tackled the fresh challenge. Once again, you all coped admirably, with not a fish tail in sight. That was my green light, YALLA! We had so much fun on those great dunes, side sloping our way through to Solar Park, we even managed a mini criss cross, which again, each driver again handled brilliantly. I was very very impressed. We should treat our cars gently, if we’re kind to them they in turn will be kind to us, and you all did, you followed the instruction perfectly, and smoothly criss-crossed that small dune. We had some steep up and overs to deal with too, and everyone coped brilliantly , in fact I think the only time we had to get the rope out was when I drove into a pocket, haha! Aside from that everyone had great drives. As the sun began to set we gathered on the dunes and the last photo op was taken advantage of. The temptation to drive back in was high, but for once I was able to resist and we headed from the dunes towards the track and gathered to re inflate Special mentions to the Newbie Newbies at the front of the convoy @Suresh K @Omar ElGamal @Dinesh Kumar A @Simon Claes – I thought you all drove really well, some great self recoveries too. Well done all of you. Just a couple of pointers, and you know who you are, stay on the tracks I create, I do this for a reason, I know where you can go safely; try to keep up; if you are losing sight of the car in front, announce it on the radio, there’s no issue with that, I’ll wait. To the more experienced drivers, and by that I mean you have had a couple of more drives, @Belal Aldaour @Patrick van der Loo @khurram.k @Super Safari Girl @Pieter Potgieter @Morshedi, you all had a really good day out there. I know it’s more difficult as the sand gets churned up, so well done for handling that as well as the slight increase in level, ‘Newbie with added vitamins’. This doesn’t apply to you all but it is worth reminding everyone at this level that, if you are losing momentum and fishtailing for whatever reason, be it the car in front or the sand being too churned and soft, please please please don’t fight gravity and steer down immediately. To the entire convoy, comms are vital on a drive, it's good to talk, never be embarrassed, just shout out, especially if you have a refusal at the bottom of a steep up and over 😜 Many thanks to my great support today, to @Larry Cadden , who was fantastic as my 2nd lead , following my instruction and holding when I needed him to. He saved us on a few occasions when I drove into an area that would have required intermediate level of skills to get out of. Thanks @Ahmad Shaker for holding it down in the middle .Also huge thanks to the ever present @Jeepie who was there to guide us all, when we were stuck or reattempting. Thank you all for indulging me, for listening to and following my instruction and for making it such a fun afternoon in the sand. Until our next adventure. 😎

  11. Lesson 1: Listen to the lead when she tells you not to park in the soft sand (3 or 4 times I announced this) 😅 Lesson 2: In off-roading be prepared for anything 😇 Lesson 3: Stucks are what make us better 😍 Glad you all got out safely, well done 😬
  12. Drive report We set off after the brief and headed along the track and into the blistering white dunes of Bab al Shams. We weren’t long into the drive when @Erik Ean had an issue, at first we thought it was the car’s over protective system but as we moved along the dunes Erik heard an unwelcome sound and his transmission light came on. That was that , hope you get it resolved soon. We had some more delays and @Alex Raptor was in action with the rope to come to the aid of the stuck drivers. With the delay I decided to try and get as much drive time as we could, I avoided the trickier patches of technical dunes and headed to the wide-open spaces the area has. This afforded the convoy the opportunity to practice some side sloping. One by one all tackled the dunes with aplomb. It really was terrific driving by the entire convoy. There wasn't a fishtail to be seen, and all managed to get just the right amount of momentum. Fantastic! We managed to cover quite a bit of ground in the middle section and with the sun beginning to dip I decided to head to the exit. We hit another patch of soft sand at a tricky spot, and the one stuck car took a while to recover. The sun was beginning to set and the chance of losing the light became real. Rather than risking more refusals I rerouted the convoy. We had one or two more refusals before we finally reached the track, with the newbie convoy getting to experience a bit of night driving. With one final stuck just at the track caused by the super soft construction sand, some shovelling, and a short tug resolved the issue. Newbie drives are all about getting used to what your car can do and understanding how to handle it in the sand. When the sand is soft we use the car’s momentum to get us through it, we also wiggle the steering wheel to help with traction. You’ll all start to get a feel for this as you continue on your off-road journey. @Erik Ean hope the issue is easily resolved with your car @Bruno Finel. You managed a couple of great self recoveries towards the end of the drive and you handled the side slopes really well with no fishtailing. Well done @Shantanu Joshi , nice recoveries when needed and another who coped well with the side sloping well done. @Mark Shepherd – great driving, I don’t think you had any issues bar one self recovery. Well done @Michel Van Woudenberg – great to see that beautiful car of yours in its natural habitat. You handled it really well. Great drive @Imteeaz Goolamhossen – I don’t think you had a single issue all day. You handle the power in the SS really well, applying a touch of finesse when required. Great drive. @KAMALIO – A nice easy drive for you today. Well done @Mohamed Shawky – You handled that big truck really well, especially in those tight spots towards the end of the drive. I think you only had one refusal . Great drive @Manish Kashyap – Same as Mohamed , handling a big truck in tight dunes takes some skills. Well done. Many thanks to @Alex Raptor for his excellent support and for his report above. Thank you @basel el rafei for being my CF and thanks @salah2u for an excellent 2nd lead. Finally, we covered 45km, driving for 2hrs20 and stopping for 1hr30. Not bad 😉 Until our next adventure

  19. And that’s exactly what this level of drive is all about. Well done 👍🏻
  20. Drive Report We started off with a nice short climb into the dunes, and then moved around the low gentle slopes as we made our way to Pink Rock and with only one or two refusals in a challenging route then I knew this Newbie convoy was ready to climb Pink Rock. One by one we went up with only two reattempts as @Daniel Rodasand @Alfred Alinazar sussed out what their Pajeros could do. As we left Pink Rock I took the opportunity to talk about the dunes that lay ahead, low , sweeping curves…..yummy. With the convoy happy to give it a go we took those dunes , gently and smoothly and then found the delicious dune that allows you to make your way down, steep, controlled and wonderful to see as everyone manage it with zero issues. I did increase the challenge as we moved through the dunes and we had a couple of minor refusals as we went along. As to be expected. The shovel nor the rope was used in this challenging terrain is a credit to the convoy and to the support team for talking everyone through self recoveries and of course the drivers for listening to instructions. As we headed towards Big Red Alfred announced his engine light had come on, we tried to resolve the issue but to no avail. With time not on our side , I decided it was best to exit the convoy as we were still some way from Tarmac. We took a gentle route to the closest exit point and inflated. I was very impressed with everyone in the convoy. @Gertjan had a very good drive, with very few issues @Marky B and @GratefulKRD likewise dealing with refusals you had with ease. Well done @Manish Kashyapfor handling your raptor in some tight spots. Shout out to the Pajero Posse at the back who @jeetu sharma @Alexanderrr@Alfred Alinazarand @Daniel Rodas who all handled the sands well and again got themselves out of trouble by listening to and following instructions. Many thanks to the excellent support today, to @Looperr for being a great 2nd lead to @Hisham Masaad who was always there to talk everyone through tricky spots and to @Rawad who swept everything at the back and kept the convoy going. Thanks again to all of you for indulging me as I led you through Cowboy Country, it’s a pity we had to finish a little earlier than planned, but we never leave anyone out there. @Alfred Alinazar I it’s an easy fix. Until our next adventure. P.S. If you wish to ask for promotion you can do so via here 'Offroad club' - Offroad Promotion' https://carnity.com/support
