  2. Hello, gents! After a looong time, I will be able to join you for a drive. Feeling fantastic! 😃
  3. Hi, guys! Just want to share my experience with you, it might be helpful for somebody. These days you can notice tons of LED light bulbs designed to replace conventional halogen light bulbs. First of all, I have some doubts that it is legal. If you are ok with it, you might want to install them because they are so bright! First type. A lot of LEDs on all sides of the light bulb. Looks great, but almost useless. The light is blinding fellow drivers but the road is not lit well. Second type. Two big LED chips on both sides of the bulb. It is a bit better but still it lights everything around and not the road. Third type. Three tiny chips on both sides of the bulb. It is almost perfect. In reflector type headlights it is not ideal, in lens type headlights should be good with descent border between light and shade on the road. Quality of the light bulb and precision of LED chips placement plays a big role here. Forth. A-Brand light bulb. Almost perfect in most of situations but considerably more expensive. General rule. The smaller LED chip, the better shape of the light. It is like that because conventional lights are designed to focus light from tiny halogen light, thus, position and size of LED chip should be as close to position and size of halogen light bulb as possible. My experience. I bought my car with second-type bulbs installed in high-beam lights. Well, for high-beam it was not that bad, for dimmed light it was not suitable at all. I decided to change it to something better. I bought third-type light bulbs for High-beam, dimmed and fog lights. Some with active cooling (with fan), some with passive (just radiator). After several months, one active-cooling light bulb failed in dimmed head light, the rest is still fine including passive-cooling fog-lights which I use a lot. After the failure, I decided to buy Philips light bulb to install them into dimmed headlight. Generally, LED light bulbs are bright. Not as bright as Xenon lights but still way brighter than halogen light bulbs. I'm satisfied with performance of lights and, important, its price. It is a significant improvement for a reasonable price!
  4. @Gaurav nice to know! Actually, I never had any issues with food poisoning or something similar in the UAE. I think that I do not trust 100% to the food industry just because of my background from the home country 😃
  5. Hi, guys! Could you pls share your experience in restoring small chips on the body? I have a few of them on my Prado, both on metal surfaces and on plastic ones. I believe they are caused by furious shoppers in the malls 😃 The biggest one and the most irritating one I have on a driver door handle, as big as 5mm. I do not want to repaint the whole thing but don't know where to buy a bit of paint and small handy brush to make it not perfect but at least less visible. Any advises? Thanks!
  6. Hi, guys! Probably, water quality depends a lot on the location of the building and its maintenance. We are lucky to live in a fairly new village built from scratch in the middle of the desert so I can be sure that all pipes and tanks are not older than 5 years at the moment. Also maintenance provider cleans everything regularly. We drink tap water which is boiled, that's a must. Water could be chemically clean but contain harmful bacteria or vice versa. The only thing, when water is not clean chemically, we might feel it. When it is contaminated by bacteria, it is much harder to notice. As a precaution, we boil all water which we drink or use for cooking. So far we have not got any problems and, hopefully, we will not have any. Also, one more thing. We are concerned about water tanks and pipes condition in our buildings. But where is a guarantee that tanks and pipes in water bottling plants are better than in our buildings? Anyway, in some areas it is not that safe to drink tap water so it is always your choice! Stay safe!
  7. Excellent! Thanks a lot! I need to do something similar =)
  8. @Frederic that's a good idea with magnetic pads, exactly what I'm looking for! How do you fix your wires going from the light bar to the engine bay? Any hints there? Thanks!
  9. @Melvin Martin Thanks a lot for your guide!😀 I missed an opportunity to visit Musandam during colder months but definitely I will do it in October or November. Guys, one more question from my side please. If I cross UAE - Oman border in Al Ain in the night time, is there somebody to sell temporary Omani car insurance for me?❓❔❓ Thanks!
  10. Hi, guys! Just want to warn some of you who have not heard about new Abu Dhabi restriction. If it is foggy in Abu Dhabi emirate, then speed limit on E11, E311 and some other roads is lowered to 80km/h. Drivers should be notified by electronic boards over the road or LED signs on the right side of the road. The thing is these boards and signs do not work! But cameras work perfectly! So you can get 4 or 5 fines easily even if you drive as slow as 90-100km/h. Also sometimes you might think that visibility is absolutely perfect but cameras still set to 80 km/h. Considering that signs and boards do not work, it is super easy to get several fines. https://gulfnews.com/uae/transport/road-speed-reduced-to-80-kmh-during-bad-weather-in-abu-dhabi-1.1541605789467 Be careful!
