    Hi @Chaitanya D,

    Two questions:

    1. I took one absolute newbie drive on last sunday, am I good to join this one?
    2. As this will happen during night time, do we need any extra lights or the stock ones are good to go?

    Hello @taz911

the feedback received internally from your first drive it would be better if you drive one or two more drives in day to be able to join the night drives . These advice are for your own safety and nothing else .

For night drives unless you are leading (hopefully in near future) , regular lights are enough till FEwbie level.

    First Night Desert drive

I was kind of skeptical at the start as it was my 3rd drive in the desert and that too at night, but excited at the same time. As a newbie, I knew that I would have few refusals but @Chaitanya D and @Simon D because of your guidance and experience every obstacle was crossed easily. @Waqar Sarwarthank you for being such a great second lead there were places where I was totally dependent on your tracks. It was great meeting @Arravind and @Xavi Moyano again.

    Thanks to the whole team

Thanks to the core team for motivating us.😊

Got to learn a few new things in this drive like how to repair a partial pop-out tire, how to dig in the right way, and how to pull a car if it's stuck.

2009 onwards SMOD is unheard of, but better to be safe with checks.

American specs - please check thoroughly that their 4WD and diff lock if available is working properly.

You will have many X up for sale with GCC specs , just keep a close watch with some patience.

many have Abused but well kept their Xterra well in this part of the world ☺️, so good luck

Recently joined the Carnity Club. Looking forward for some really good off road experience.

    Quick qn.
I only have a very basic experience in off road driving and running thorough the chats actually made me feel whether I am allowed to go for tomorrow's night drive for newbies.

Dear @DTG this drive is not for absolute newbies / first timers with the club.

can you elaborate more on your experience in off roading. Thanks

  20. Hi @CasperPL, i can see in your profile that you have a 2006 pathfinder which by itself is a great car ( I believe with the same 4.0 V6, not sure if there is a diff lock option). Just the diff lock is not a deal breaker if you are thinking so - as long as you are driving with a group.

I suppose you can prep your present car itself which can easily meet your needs for off roading.  Unless there is something major which might be super expensive. Members here have driven on all levels with this car

As a Xterra owner myself - two of them  - it is a great car which will never fail you and over time you learn how to play around to at least get out of desert in any issue, but getting proper parts - especially OEM/genuine is a bit of wait /pain at times. This might be an issue with all other older model cars. Another advantage with the xterra is there is a amazing support group of xterra owners available here with tons of advise.

The off-roading experiences I've had, have been club drives with Marshals providing convoyed sweeps and lead. Embarrassed to say I've yet to actually go camping or barbeque rides :)

I've done 5 rides with the new vehicle and have a comfortable feel of the rig. But looking to get more experience in general.

Will look forward to daytime rides

    Thank you for your reply

    See you on Friday evening
