  1. Jeep directly, 2 inches, ~10K (which was in the reality 3.5). After that, you can take 315/70/17 (rubs insignificantly only in very extreme cases -  so good to go), but I like more 305/17/70 (rims and tires - another 10K, of course outside as Mopar rims are 2500K each).

@Looper is right, lifting in the third-party workshop will cost twice cheaper, but it's not the same lift kits. Nearly all (or all) 2-2.5" lift kits will only have coil springs (and some minor things) while Mopar has coil springs, Fox shock, and some massive metal bars (I have no clue what was that - but it gives an impression that Mopar kit is "stronger')

A warranty should not be the factor, I assume, as despite its a gray zone, but I never heard any problems about the cars, lifted in outside off-road garages.

  2. Did a test drive yesterday - pretty cool car, great as a second car for long expeditions to Oman and city rides. BUT it has 2 fundamental problems and one potentially fixable issue which definitely would prevent me from taking it into the sand:
    1) Rims size, min 18, 19-20 in stock. Means pop-outs will be your best friends (with the car's weight). Very good examples here (11:50 and 14:00):

    2) Front towing hook - it's just a joke or mockery, but it will be impossible to set it up when you are in troubles, as you need to dismount the whole front low pannel. Inability to being towed from the front - WTF?
    3) Issue. You can check the video from the Ukrainian, very trusted channel - Defender actually put their life at great risk, I believe it can be fixed, BUT.. imagine it happens with you on the Big Red (from 49:30, use eng subtitles)

  3. There is a popular opinion that jeeps are lifted because of the look (my case). In order to help the doubters, I will leave my photos here.

Comparisons of the stock version and Mopar 2" + BFG 315/17/70

Coopers XLT 305/17/70 (the best size for Mopar IMHO, 10% lighter, but this size is not easy to find in Dubai)

Also have another pic to compare 33 vs 35 (285 vs 315), but here also different lift kits

  4. I wouldn't buy Bronco in the next few years, just because Ford has no experience in building this kind of car (open roof), and there will be many many many problems until they make the next generation.

Just recently they announced that have some problems with the roof's material which lead to a huge delay of supply..
Despite it looks cool - here no questions

Speaking of the wheels, do you feel the stock wheels are good enough for desert driving, or is an upgrade necessary do you think?

I see two advantages of the large wheels:
    1) It's nearly a "guaranty" that you won't have pop-outs, at all. There are some very extreme cases (like my only one 🤭), but normally you won't have any. With stock tires Wrangles still better than other cars in terms of pop-outs, but I've seen many pop-outs with Carnity on Sport/Sahara 32s and even Rubicon's 33s
I won't touch the pandora box of the ability to climb higher on the dunes, but would just highlight the pop-outs

    2) The look

maybe like how far can you go on a tank maybe

I think its about 500 km on stock wheels and less on large ones (nor sure, but nothing tells me that Jeeps are good in efficiency)

Regarding the noice - no issues at all (at all) - on stock, BFG315/70/17 and Coopes XLT305/70/17 tires. Its much better than e.g. lux cabrios like BMW Z4 or so. I assume all bad stories comes from the older, hardly modified jeeps

I'm wondering if any experienced Wrangler drivers can weigh in on any of these issues? I know you all love your Wranglers but please try to be objective 😂🙏🏼

Speaking for JL/JLU, I would only leave fuel efficiency in the list of Wrangler's drawbacks.
And it has 2 big advantages: 1) it is a new car with a modern and stylish (hello toyotas and mitsu) cabin. You enjoy when driving to sand and driving to opera; 2) you can remove the top and enjoy life differently

What would you suggest? I do want to maintain a comfortable ride on the road but also have the right  support when off roading

You can't mathematically prove the necessity of lift. You have 2 options - continue to think each day about the lift or to make a lift. I don't know any jeep owner who regrets lifting their cars.
The roads in the UAE are wide and straight - so there is no real difference you have a Porsche or Jeep

Looks like “ pull and drive “ is better than “ kill and drive “

Looks like all the same :)  I am only touching this fuse as I am waiting for the new control panel (to be replaced under warranty - buttons get stuck) and in the meanwhile agency just disconnected the whole panel inside the car. So fuse is the only option for me to drive on sand now
