  1. Looking forward to the drive @Mehmet Volga. We ended last weeks' Fewbie plus drive at the same meeting/starting point as your drive - the area we used to cross coming from the tar road, to get onto the track (crossing the cycle track) has turned into a large swamp with all the rain over the last weeks! We basically re- inflated right next to (parallel to) the cycle track, after looping on a side track. Just FYI as I wouldn't have known if I wasn't there on Saturday. 👍

  2. Thanks @M.Seidam for the enjoyable drive today..... Great weather and company for the drive, with varied terrain and sand conditions. I must say my favourite part was after crossing (the road) into Al Qudra - where the sand was drier and the pace quicker. By the way, congrats on managing to negotiate the Al Qudra dunes/terrain in your 2-wheel drive Xterra 🤣😂 Imagine what you could do if you used the 4-wheel drive option.

    Some pics in the gallery.

Looking forward to the next one! 👍

  3. @Jeepie always sad to see the loss of an asset. I recall your sensible and calm approach, adding a level-headed element to the drives.... A powerful heart-felt post from @Wrangeld . Well done for having the courage to follow your heart - not everyone manages that. We hope to see you in  a different capacity, possibly as a passenger next to Richard, in the future! Go well.

  4. @Shaaz Sha thanks for another good drive yesterday - quite different from our previous ones in area 53. My wife was happy with her decision to come along, and most importantly (for her and me 😬) didn't get too much sand in her hair. Hope you have managed to sort your compressor cable - luckily nothing worse than that! Thanks too to @Matt.T and @Thomas Varghese for support (and pictures @Thomas Varghese!)

    Wish everyone a good week.

  5. So, on our (fantastic!) Fewbie + drive with @Shaaz Sha yesterday, I was not able to scale one of the high dunes in Sharjah's area 53 - due to this upshift/rev limiter issue.... I have a Pajero 2011, 3.8 LWB. I tried several times (using "D" in addition to tiptronic, which I rarely do), but was unable (hasn't happened before) to get that last 10% I needed to scale and cross the dune- very frustrating!

I see this has been raised previously..... and the topic started/continued not surprising by @Frederic!

After going through the posts I suppose my questions would be:

    1. Has anyone installed the "Unichip ECU" option - what level of success has been achieved? What was the approximate cost?

    2. Any other advice/suggestions/comments, especially from Pajero 2007 - 2011 owners with the same restriction, that others may have of scaling the dunes - apart from the general principle of getting/maintaining enough momentum. I know so many have much more experience than I do.

I'm thinking of future drive levels for example, and want to find a balanced solution at this stage.  The "Omani" hack doesn't seem to be very appealing!

    Tagging in those I can remember 😂 have Pajeros, even of a different generation to mine but open to any advice from anyone... @Gaurav @Frederic @GauravSoni @Wrangeld @Anish S @Vanessa8580 @Mehmet Volga @Yousef Alimadadi @Lakshmi Narasimhan @Adhir Saxena @Danish Mohammad @Warren Flay @Tamas Hoffmann @andy_macdxb @Michael sammy

    Thanks 🙏

  6. @Shaaz Sha 3 drives in 3 weeks has been great! Thanks for another good one today - beautiful and challenging terrain in area 53.... thanks @Matt.T and @Chinthaka Ruwan for keeping us all together. Great to see familiar faces..

Appreciate everyone's patience towards the end when I didn't make that dune, and my subsequent try's - a bit disconcerting for me, as hasn't happened before - even though I know my rev limiter issue. Must now find some ways around the problem, and move forward.

Have a good week everyone 👍
