  1. @Harshad Ashraf @Tom V @jeetu sharma @Azeem M @Nathan @BHANU PRAKASH VISHWANATH @Nithin Vaidir @Kaleem Ur Rahman @kiranshinde @Karthik Raptor @Alfred Alinazar @Jean Jarjoura @Srikumar @Dinesh Kumar A Perfect morning drive thanks to the super convoy, showing support and patience plus impressive driving! I really enjoyed being part of this group, meeting many for the first time and huge appreciation to @Srikumar for such an exciting and fun route… perfect mix today and this sets the bar extremely high for future newbie rides! Hope to see many of you in Liwa!
  2. @Daniel Rodas I was considering camping … let’s see who in our group is thinking the same … (my alternative was to grab a hotel closer by in AD and save an hour in the morning).
  3. @Srikumar I have report this post for ‘hurting my feelings’
  4. @Zed you wouldn’t get this abuse with the Patrol!
  5. I am following this with so much envy!!!!! Though the feeling of having a bit more cash in my pocket as we don’t have such a wealth of Accesories or needing a professional valet every weekend is getting me through
  6. Hi @Srikumar - if you would like some support happy to join and bring my shovel
  7. Now you understand why i left the brand/name of the car out of the original post ... its a polarizing vehicle and i wanted to focus/learn about the impact/benefits/limits of the choice in engine for our type of offroading (dunes). During the drive the guys from xQuary (so partially independent from Ineos) mentioned the performance was not limiting (power to weight) and that the torque was a positive for dune driving (he did state a turbo means being more intentional with regards approach speeds) Have been following the Grenadier since concept and intrigued by the approach they are taking (parts, service, warranty, support etc ... its nothing like what's out there at present - which makes it a gamble, but exciting)
  8. Now that’s progress! 🍻🍻 I am glad I was able to unintentionally create the momentum
  9. LMAO - How can you not love the internal controls .... you are very hard to please @Hisham Masaad (i think you just don't want to let go of the FJC and hand it over to your son !)
  10. Agree that its definitely not a first choice for climbing and high speed adventures - will wait for a true offroad test drive in the new year and report back. The reliability is for sure a question mark - I love the LC70 & classic Patrols and we are so lucky they are still available for us out here.
  11. Many thanks @Frederic - really helpful. I couldn't find the Torque vs BHP Curve for the specific engine. The Car in question: Ineos Grenadier (Inline 6 and not V in my original post) BMW B58 Engine (tuned to the 285HP/450NM spec) i couldn't find a version of this engine tuned to the above spec so no detailed data easily available. LMAO - I am definitely not made for speed and may plan to be the Tea/Coffee runner next years DCT to ensure none of the leads fear seeing my name in the pot went on a test run (passenger only) last week and have a soft spot for this car!
  12. Hi fellow off-road enthusiasts, I need some education and opinion on the topic of Torque vs BHP with regards driving off-road in the Desert. (Prior to this post, I spent sometime searching this topic, though plenty of content available, it was monopolized by off-road = overlanding/rock crawling and not our terrain) #1 - if you have a link I can educate myself on, please feel free to share that vs writing up a reply (save you all time) Here's the back drop to the discussion/topic: Engine in question: V6 3.0L Petrol (single turbo) 285HP 450NM Torque Vehicle Weight 2.5 - 2.8Ton (kerb weight) Let the debate begin Thanks in advance
  13. In homage to the Carnity Desert Champions Trophy:
  14. @varunmehndiratta oh no … @Zed recognized my driving style which I am proud of- I am Carnity’s only (and therefore best) leisure driver and take the above as a badge of honor 🤣🤦🏽‍♂️. Zed’s only fault is the way he treats his beauty of an LC100!… for that I am submitting a demotion request for him
  15. @Lorenzo Candelpergher@Mus_hus78 @Daniel Rodas @Humayun Ghias what a great day out, what a great week prior (on our WhatsApp chats)! It was fun above all! @Lorenzo Candelpergher (our fastest lead) being paired with me (Carnity’s slowest and most conservative driver) could have only happened with the fairness of a random draw! From the build up, the execution of team formation, the banter in the event thread, the morning competitive spirit and the ceremonies to end the day - thank you team @Carnity for a perfect day out! @Hisham Masaad appreciated and loved you opening a pop-up fresh coffee shop for all… your generosity has not limits! and to the winners… worthy and setting the standards for next year!
  16. Pre-watch for @PaoloMaraziti before attending this intervention (that said your trunk is deceivingly tidy- just not organized). @Hisham Masaad i would like to be part of this 'meet and tidy' event ... count me in!
  17. Nicely done team @Carnity …. Maybe not FIFA level (as Paolo commented) but definitely reminded me of the the Marhooz or dubai duty free draw (not because of the questionable results …. More to do with the well organized execution). @Jeepie pls make sure to make room in the trophy cabinet as it’s clear we are taking this home … don’t be nice to your husband out of pity … tough love for him and the others Looks hungry… may find you stuck at the nearest food truck!
  18. @PaoloMaraziti one option could be create a layer by adding a shelf across the wheel wells (minimal added weight vs drawers and gives significant room back to store items). Customizing it to have tie down hooks and legs will add strength to use the top for secure storage. Under the shelf it shouldn’t be too hard to section of enough space to roll in the jack: Easy to make yourself or the firm below have it precut and supplied with hooks to secure down (no legs and no tie down points) https://www.instagram.com/p/COv20xCJRm2/?utm_medium=copy_link
  19. this is great news and very well deserved @varunmehndiratta !!! look forward to joining a drive together as it has been a long time!
  20. @JeromeFJ Awesome news.... Stock everything FJ showing the rest of us how it can be done! superb news and very well deserved!
  21. Many congrats @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil - hopeful this means you move from being the default Second Lead to the default CF well deserved and looking forward to our next convoy
  22. Well deserved and wonderful news!! Congrats @PaoloMaraziti !!! 🍻🍻🍻
  23. @Wrangeld Thankyou for taking on this drive on such short notice as it would have been a loss for us all to have missed this wonderful morning! @Lorenzo Candelpergher thank you for having this track booked and I cannot wait to join you leading here (yet another reason to visit AD)! Super support from @JeromeFJ @Dodi Syahdar. An ideal welcome to the club for @Ali Shah @Imran Kashif @eric abordo who all did great (communication, discipline, patience and trust) @Adnan Halepota @Gertjan @Mohseen Suliman made light work at the back and appreciate your willingness to support throughout! Final thanks (again) to @Wrangeld especially for the moment we got to all step out and learn together. I’ve captured Dodi in prayer (or ready to fall on his sword) as Gertjan got to use the swb Prado in place of his Raptor!
