  1. @Shiroy Tarapor Nissan provide a great service pack option and good length warranty ... buying the super safari means you roll out the showroom and straight onto the dessert so all/most parts covered by warranty/service contract... peace of mind as no modifications needed so any issues you just roll it back into the showroom Only spend once you done a few newbie drives would be tires and there’s a separate thread on that! maybe a bash plate if stock isn’t enough! superb car for the dessert ... and still one of the most intimidating cars on the highway ... if this was your only choice you have lucked out as it’s a dream car for what you are planning!
  2. @Brette got myself on a drive so please feel free to remove me on the waitlist. thanks
  3. @Wrangeld pls cam I be added to the drive or waitlist (first drive of the weekend). Confirmed I have completed the 5 fewbie drives .. thanks
  4. I ended up getting the "Mean Mother" compressor as it finally arrived back in stock. 735 AED @Chaitanya D your point about giving the compressor a break - i plan to use the Indeflate 4 hose setup to inflate all 4 tires at the same time... will share my experience after this weekend.... it breaks the guidance however still stays within the Duty cycle. I did a test run with the built in compressor (NSV) and all 4 tires from 14PSI-33PSI ... it took near 20mins with the current set up and the ends of the hose was very hot. This weekend, considering the advice above, i will inflate all 4 tires at once using the Mean Mother and rather than rolling the hoses up, just lay them flat in the trunk for the drive home to cool and not risk cracking. thanks for all the tips.... the 5 year warranty was the swinger for me to choose Mean Mother over the Dobinsons (Though i am sad i don't have a little tank to aid cleaning the air filter as the force straight from the compressor is a little weak)
  5. @Brette pls add me to the waitlist for a first drive of the weekend. Thanks
  6. I am in no way as credible as the folks above - however if you have the option, do consider a plan B - purchase 2 cars? One comfy family cruiser that can take you to a beach or gentle camping spots (casual drives as you mention) and then a smaller more agile desert toy. The price range between a V6 LC and V8 5.7 is near 80K AED (that could get you a very capable offroad car and one that would not leave you driving with hesitation). I owned a single LR4 from new and never took it to the desert even though i always wanted to commit to the hobby - it was our sole car and i always had to ensure it was ready for a school drop etc.. recently i picked up a FJ Cruiser (in no way endorsing that as its hardly a family car ,,, thought the family do love it) - knowing i have it as the desert toy (hobby) i drive with a sense of freedom/ease/comfort. just my 2 cents worth - feel free to ignore and look forward to welcoming you to the community on an actual ride. Good luck and there are a LOT of wise, experienced and trust worthy folks here giving advice that you may struggle to get elsewhere (independent and unbiased) ..
  7. @Frederic during yesterday’s drive with Ale, @N@ved asked if he could be added to the wait list for this Astro photography ride. thank you
  8. @Ale Vallecchi another super drive led by you -thank you! Felt like we were the only drivers in the desert!! The only disappointment was not getting a chance to follow @Luca Palanca Falsini however excited for the sequel to this drive when you are ready @Islam Soliman you made me feel like I was driving 2nd lead... following the fresh new track you often created was a pleasure ... learnt a lot seeing the lines you choose! kudos for all the help throughout! @Ahab Shamaa always a pleasure being on a ride with you .. and as sweep flawless again and got to see the magic of the winch for the first time! Thank you for encouraging me to take on the ridge and keeping us all at the back well looked after! A few pics added to the gallery .. see you all at the sequel ... @Ale Vallecchiwe are 🙏🏽 For the return of your FJC (could be the title of the sequel ride)
