  1. Thanks @Mehmet Volga - a pleasure to drive with you again - and great support from @Joseph Raju. Really enjoyable drive, and lots of learnings. Felix and I thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one. Stay safe. W
  2. Likewise, my first drive in a little while so really looking forward to heading out. @Foxtrot Oscar - I'm Fewbie, not Newbie , in case it makes a difference.
  3. Thanks for leading! Looking forward to the drive tomorrow! I understand the underpass is open at Nazwa which saves a few Kms in the morning (although I missed it myself on last weeks drive…) Will
  4. Ah, apologies. Understood. This is my only drive for the weekend. Please let me know if it shows me signed up for anything else as that will be an error. Look forward to seeing you on Friday.
  5. Thanks for catching me Richard - I was laser focused on watching the tire pressure readings as they take a while to register once inflated and totally missed the tailgate open - hope it didn’t curtail your goodbyes too much!! Thanks for leading and the guidance today and support from Nivin. Hope to catch up with folks on the next drive!
  6. Thanks - looking forward to seeing you in the morning. I have a radio and (I think) managed to program it with the Carnity frequencies!
  7. H Wrangled. Thanks for leading the drive on Friday and I also look forward to meeting you! The car is completely standard – I’ve just fitted a compressor and a flag! I’ve done around 20 drives in the desert over the 12 years I’ve been in the UAE. 10 or so were several years ago when I had a SWB Wrangler and then the odd one or two drives since – I also went out with Off Road Zone a few times. I’ve been driving out to camp in the desert several times in the last year as well. I bought the Raptor a couple of months ago and did a one-on-one half day drive with an instructor for my first time out in it to get the feel of it. I’ve since done another 3 drives with friends in Al Qudra. I tried to sign up for an intermediate drive not realizing I needed to start with an Absolute Newbie drive first! The main things I’d like to get out of off-roading are to upskill my desert driving capabilities in a safe environment where I can learn from those with more experience. I’m also looking forward to meeting new people and seeing different parts of the UAE desert. See you bright and early Friday!
  8. Thank you Gaurav, I appreciate the response. I have reviewed and that sounds eminently sensible - I look forward to becoming part of the community and driving with you in the future. All the best, Will
