  1. What have I missed !, by reading the comments and the videos I am already imaging myself in the Pajero Bowl. Definitely need to make it up later! Now I am serious thinking of living in Al Ain, just 1 hour away from all the joy and fun๐Ÿ˜
  2. Congrats @Waqas ParvezParvez ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ
  3. congrats @GauravSoni on the well deserved promotion! Have known you since 2021, always receive guidance, support and encouragement from you, from Lorenzo's Faya drive to last Quaa drive. You possess more than what I see from a Marshal. ๐Ÿ™Œ
  4. Came across the same, found this link that explains why. Note that the balloon tire is not street legal and due to less footprint when inflated, it's not safe onroad
  5. The car has been sent to garage by recovery and diagnosis is still going on, it's more likely to be a rebuilt rather than replacing the engine, either way i will be out for few weeks for sure. Thanks everyone for the comments, I will be missing you all and the sands ๐Ÿ™ Huge thanks to @GauravSoni for such a detailed recovery plan, including scouting to plan the right path, showing us the route, extremely detailed briefing before executing the recovery plan, and end to end monitor and guidance during the recovery. I was mentally prepared that I was going leave the car that day, but you sounded so confident that made me believed it is achievable, and we made it with one go!๐Ÿ™Œ Cant thank you enough for this! (The recovery's definitely not as easy as I sound here!) and ofc huge thanks to @ASAD. @Mario Cornejo, the flawless executors of the recovery plan, very precise maneuvers, well controlled pulling and the massive power within the Prado and y61. I was not expecting that under one go we could get the fatty pathfinder out but with you two it worked out! thanks a ton for the rescue ! This extreme recovery also showed us how well equipped that our leaders are and exemplified Carnity Team spirit. Cant appreciate enough how much the club has taught us and how much the club provisiones us before every drive and lead!! By the time we reached the tarmac, it was 1pm already, and recovery would only reach by 4pm. Thank you @GauravSoni @Looper for staying with me till the recovery reached. Made home by 8.30pm while napping in recovery truck. I was lucky enough that the engine failure only happened after major part of the drive, that we all have enjoyed from the massive bowls and climbs, and there are always learnings from driving with you all @Gaurav @Looper @Anoop Nair @munkybizness @ASAD. @Mario Cornejo This weekend hasnt been easy on my car and myself, I am down for allergy for the moment, hence the videos of the incredible recovery will be shared later on. As I probably will not show up for both occasions, happy Christmas and happy new year to you all !
  6. I will still carry maybe 15L, just for peace of mind, also my fuel gauge's indication isnt consistent if you are camping please share the route to reach, i might do too. dont want to get stuck again in the night before drive start๐Ÿ˜…
  7. cause is simple, downshifting from 2nd 4k rpm without reducing speech will reach above 7k rpm on 1st gear I dont know the max rpm 3.8 engine can handle, but that is definitely beyond red line and not safe for the engine, and gear box doesnt allow it to happen. This applies to all AT cars I suppose, at least on AT pathfinder prado FJ that I know The reason why you asking is to know how to climb higher, I am sure @GauravSoni can give you good answer on this. Seen he doing some wonders in Quaa with 3.8 What I do is I pull maximum speed on 2nd gear that the terrain and suspension allow me to before climbing, and this speed must be well beyongd 4k rpm (maximum torque on engine) and floor the pedal to climb. Otherwise floor the hell out of 1st from start,
  8. No, mine is vortex head, air is still being sucked into the intake system by pressure. the benefit of vortex head is that it keeps more heavy contaminants away and provide cleaner air to the engine, which is critical for Nissan's VQ40DE engine, it gets into limp mode if dirt gets in Ram type head forces air into the intake system which theoretically increase the amount of air to the engine, you may check with others who have ram head. switching the head is easy, you can get me a ram type and im happy to test for you๐Ÿ˜ https://www.4x4works.co.uk/snorkel-heads-guide/#:~:text=The two most common types, fall into the snorkel itself.
  9. As Davie mentioned, Never experienced sand as soft as this, that any aggressive driving would punish us with air leaking from the tires, but thanks to God that we had no tire issue nor pop out other than few zero pressure tires. Thanks @Zulfikhar Naiyarfor giving me some pressured air๐Ÿ‘ Thank you @Islam Soliman for leading us in this adventurous terrain where we had the hard labor recovery, extremely soft sand multiple steps and more. honestly even with you driving the full size in front of me, I still had to think twice before making any movement. And with the strong support from @Davie Chase @Ranjan Das at back and the rest of skilled and supportive members in the convey @Zulfikhar Naiyar @Ashutosh Garg @Karthikeyan Govindarajan, we could reach the YT and made it back safely. Also glad to see the vortex snorkel I newly installed works very well on keeping the sand out of the intake system๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ, there was only fine dust in the filter
  10. To @Islam Soliman and whoever coming in the early morning. Fog is forming near madinat Zayed, and the last km to the camp is extremely foggy, visibility less than 5meters. be cautious
  11. @Pacific has the one in the tailgate, I dont think it's fast enough because he has the second one in the trunk. Let him chip in. But talking about the compressor, I am extremely satisfied by my recently obtained DM 4 cylinder compressor. It has 2 outlets and I mated it to 2 x 1 to 2 air hose, inflating all 4 tires at same time, to 35 psi for around 3-4 mins. couldnt be happier with its performance ๐Ÿ’ช
  12. Congrats Fabien! Happy to see you in support team, which you were pretty much in!
  13. Congrats Deepak, now you have to teach how to crest and uncrest the belly๐Ÿ‘ฝ
  14. Congrats Patrick, I knew you were ready for FB+๐Ÿ˜, keep it up
  15. I remember you had air leakage on RR tire one of the drive that I was behind you, it would have been a popout if not for the beadgrip rim. My pathfinder has similar weight and output to Prado, I run G015 on stock rim between 8-10 psi with no single pop out for a year already, even tho one of tire pressure sensor broke due to aggressive driving style. A flawed batch could be most probably cause.
  16. I am sure the post 2013 FJ owners dont have the relevant information for you cuz they dont need it The gas station ones will be fine, the only issue is how to strap them properly, they are rounded with only 1 handle You can get other types but make sure the cap properly seals the body, gasoline evaporates very quickly when its exposed in air and will take over your cabin. and make sure you have a funnel to pour it in. I will be taking 80L fuel tank + 20L Jerry since its only a full day drive
  17. looks like Finance ppl dont work on Fridays๐Ÿ™@Rizwanm2 @Haitham Khattab
  18. I was right at the tire shop when I read this post, immediately I checked the threads and they are all good thanks God. BTW I must praise to the G015 + Nissan OEM rim combo. After a year of full time offroad, no visible sand observed inside any of the 4 tires which means I wasn't even nearly popped out, even tho I broken one of the newly replaced tire pressure sensor inside the tire๐Ÿ‘Œ
  19. hey @Imran Kashif , good be driving with you again! I believe that you have the wrench that I offered to you to remove the Pajero battery terminal last weekend in Quaa, Can I have it back this weekend ๐Ÿ˜ถ
