Dear Desert Wanderers @Emanuel @Rafey Hashmi @Mahesh_ @DanielN @essam ibrahim @Rob S @frederic demolder and @Mike M. as @Rob S has eloquently stated above fantastic mornings drive with even better company.
I hope you all had as much fun as I did as we navigated the harder than usual sands of Lisalli. We had some nice free flowing dunes a little taste of some tighter technical dunes and quite a few Camel encounters
The weather held up nicely for us as we encountered a few refusals and a couple of stucks. as you found out shoveling the harder wet sand is a tad more challenging, but equally satisfying when we see the heavy piece of metal slither from its tethers and resume its way down the dune.
Excellent Second lead as always from @Emanuel until a couple of bolts holding his bash plate on decided to not play nice any longer and disappear into the sand leaving only the front two to hold it on. With the help of the ever-trusty air jack to hold the weight we were able to remove the two remaining securing points and slide the plate out safely and fairly effortlessly. We then had some fun trying to drop the rear seats but got there in the end and managed to tie down the plate in the rear and exit @Emanuel safely. Hope it is a quick and painless repair buddy and look forward to seeing you in my mirrors on the sand very soon.
2nd S/L was equally as good when we promoted @Rafey Hashmi as Emanuel exited. you drove very well my friend and followed my instructions implicitly. Well done and look forward to having you behind me in the very near future.
Our Sweep of the day @Mike M. did a fantastic job keeping the back of the convoy in check and keeping me informed every step of the way. great job and thank you.
@Rob S what can I say mate, great support in the CF role, you handled all of the issues we had with a calm nature and a professional attitude, could not have asked for better support today, thank you and see you in the sand again on one of my drives very soon.
As i said earlier the rest of the convoy drove exceptionally well, thank you and enjoy the rest of your weekend, see you all again very soon

Any possibility to increase the RVSP Davie
😅? @Davie Chase
@Dan S I will make a decision as we progress through the week and we see who stays on the drive, peoples plans change and sometimes they drop out, as you said very early yet, watch this space and I will let you all know later in the week.
11 minutes ago, Robk said:Hi @Davie Chase
Im a newbie with Carnity, 3 drives completed in past month with previous desert driving experience outside the club. I notice there arent any newbie drives lined up for this coming weekend. Is it possible to join a fewbie drive for this week or is that out of the question? Just wondering, keen on driving.
Rob.
Hi @Robk thanks for reaching out, unfortunately we can only allow folks who have the correct grading structure to join the drive. We do understand that there are no Newbie drives this weekend however, we have to follow the structure. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Dear Desert Wanderers @Gertjan @essam ibrahim @Bjoern @Rafey Hashmi @Patrick van der Loo @Dan S @DanielN @Ishak and @Cha what a fantastic way to start the weekend, I cannot thank you all enough for making the drive a memorable one and a very enjoyable one.
We started off on time only to get stuck behind a very large camel train. In our attempt to navigate them we hit some technical dunes, however, you all handled them brilliantly. We then got into our stride on the mid to long range flowing dunes of Nahel, we made good pace and covered a total of just short of 51 km’s. The distance covered shows how well you all drove with only one or two sticks and a couple of refusals.
We could not get to Solar park due to the festivities there, we will try again in the near future.
A big thank you to the guys at second lead and Sweep, @Bjoern and @Gertjan respectively, you guys both did a fantastic job and kept me informed all the way through.
A special thank you to the busiest guy in the convoy @Cha, amazing support and patience as you worked through the issues we had and resolved them with the utmost professionalism.
Drive stats
I hope you all enjoyed the drive as much as I did and that you all have a fantastic weekend.

A pretty exciting drive with lots of action throughout the day.
When we started this morning, it seemed that the desert was a tarmac where we could have driven without deflation and on 2H. But as the sun started coming up and the upper layer started to dry, the challenges began in the form of refusals. The maximum learning happens when you have Refusals and Stucks, as there is where you develop the finer skills of driving on the sand.
All the Newbies did exceptionally well driving, keeping the right amount of distance and maintaining the momentum. Today's drive was definitely above a typical Newbie level drive, and you all should be proud of how you tackled the dunes today.
@Imran Asghar and @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke were the real show stoppers of the day 😂. But look at the bright side your car will now be even more ready for the DCT. I am sure @Davie Chase would be glad that the broken rim happened on a Newbie drive rather than when they are making a challenge for the Champions Trophy.
Big thank you to @Davie Chase , @Benjamin @Fabien Monleau for joining and supporting the drive. Special mention to @Felix Obst who handled the Second Lead position superbly well.
It was a pleasure driving with all of you on a beautiful Sunday morning in Sweihan.
Till we meet again on sands, take care.
@Srikumar yes for sure i am glad we found this at this time and not during DCT. Also happy that we were able to overcome the issues and get both @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke and @Felix Obst out safely, due to the whole convoy pitching in especially @Fabien Monleau and @Benjamin true team carnity effort

Thank you @Carnity especially @Gaurav @Frederic and @Srikumar and the entire support team of @Cha @Sunil Mathew @DP1011 @Islam Soliman (hope you car is not terminal mate) and @Simon D for all the hard work making this a truly memorable day for all of us.
the terrain was the trickiest I have encountered during my short time as a Carnity lead, but boy oh boy was it fun, except one forest that we drove through to get to an easy green (not so easy and was one of the worst patches of bushes I have ever seen in the desert). I learnt so much in this 6hrs and had a fantastic confidence boost along the way as to my leading skills.
may entire team of desert flyers @Dodi Syahdar @PETELCZYC PAJERO - luke @Joji vargheseand @Benjamin drove the wheels off their cars and followed me wherever I went. Talk about team work, wow you guys were the best team a lead could wish for, thank you one and all for making my day so memorable and so much fun.
looking forward to the next one
thank you all for a great weekend 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
