  1. This Sarwat news writer of 7 days is famous for such crappy and long fetched stories, that is difficult to catch and proven wrong. I more agree with barry idea that these private plane kind of shit will be soon appearing in next 5-10 years on the horizon.
  2. 5 out of 6 post has backlink to same site(uglycarblabla) is called spamming in English and not contribution.
  3. I don't think number of pillar decide the strength, but the build quality and how strong they are made makes most of the difference. 2 or 3 (numbers) doesn't counter or distribute the impact.
  4. Looks like backlink spam alert is about to triggered.
  5. I have tried NGI and Oman in past and both are equally good more or less. Nothing wow in customer service and just good (not bad either) surely with the price you pay.
  6. Water is life man, is it so hard to understand with off-road goers.....! All other ideas of fruit and vegies is also very nice and creative, I never heard of these things before.
  7. It's a sad to see this happening, may be it's good to share what actions authorities have taken against impatient drivers (without naming and shaming them) to educate and scare other drivers to be more civilized and respect road users life.
  8. Brandon, make an opinion poll for same and let's see how many people vote for this law to exist here or not?
  9. Really nicely said @salmanahmed +1 buddy.
  10. I understand your concern that how come authorities can tackle every inch of road......? Idea is to make fine some heavy fine like for use of yellow lane for 2000 AED. Announce it on Gulf news FIRST PAGE, Radio and TV channel, RTA and police FB pages. Fine randomly 50-60 cars in first month and see how those 50-60 people spread their unfair and expensive fines story like a fire in the market. After a month, announce crazy figures that Police fined 6000 cars or so in first month and see in next month people will be scared to go in fast lane for genuine overtaking even.......! It's not about the effective coverage but about existing of law or fine that will scare the people enough and force them to obey the rules. I remember 5-6 years back everyone use to drive in yellow lane when stuck in traffic, after hefty fines issuance this appearance has reduced to 10% from 100% who still doesn't care about hefty fines may be those are rich or those who have connections to get it waived.
  11. What so much fuss guys, don't you know that next big thing in automobile is electric cars.....? That's why almost all car manufacturers investing heavily in that future and now so many electric cars are available on roads - of course except MENA and ASIA region as we get everything in end For @treks do you know that Tesla and other electric cars have already reached 426 kms per charge, so where is the problem now and @Gaurav electric cars these days run 100 times crazy fast than petrol cars at it has instant power delivery but without the engine noise, lol. Be ready to dump your Mustang shortly. @Technician cowdung and other biogas is now thing of past and used in rural outskirts due to easy availability and not urban areas, I have barely seen a cow in UAE in last 5 years let alone the dung. I agree with your Solar and Wind energy use, that yes we should move more towards these alternatives as well as we have 360+ days of extra bright sunlight in UAE. @salmanahmed totally agree with you buddy that best way to educate people is with word of mouth and social these days as it connect with emotions faster than just sending emails and sms.
  12. I really feel education and manners is most important. Education come from awareness and manners come from penalties. I totally agree with @teajay that RTA or Police should start 1000 USD fine for driving slow in fast lane. Hope someone read this someday extra money proposal and make everyone life better.
  13. You have quiet limited options in truck here in UAE, I have done this drill few months back and dropped the idea to go for truck. Chevrolet Silverado - 127,000 AED upwards Ford F-150 - 155,000 AED upwards Ford F-150 Raptor - 200,000 AED upwards Dodge Ram - 144,000 AED upwards GMC Sierra - 165,000 AED upwards Toyota Tundra - Not available in UAE (only import from aweer) Toyota LC Pickup - 118,000 AED upwards These new car prices must have changed a little due to Ramadan offer, but it will be almost closer in 2-5% range. The most capable if you ask me is the Toyota LC pickup, but if you see it you might not like to drive with so much basic and simple looking truck in this era.
  14. For upholstery I used Sara auto care in Al Quoz, Dubai few years back and they were very good and efficient to replace the roof liner for my wife's Touareg.
  15. My personal favorite is Nissan Patrol Y61 engine, that sends mind blowing torque on first gear to literally spin the wheels on slightest touch. I miss my Nissan Patrol man.
  16. Drive to salalah is good in this weather, but start early to avoid big queuing at exit points and come back little early.
  17. Can you tell what exactly happening of below two option: If pedal become spongy and depress all the way down to hold the brake and then barely able to brake OR Pedal response is fine, but brake is not holding as it use to like before with a slight touch of pedal. For the 1st point, brake fluid must be low, try top up. Or brake booster is weak and need to flush the whole brake fluid and bleed the brake properly with certified DOT3/4 brake fluid. For 2nd option change the brake pad with OEM ones, as previous owner must have changed pad to duplicate ones as he was about to sell the car and soon after few months those fake parts must be showing it's true color.
  18. I agree buddy, here very very few people appreciate classic or slightly older cars more than 15-20 years. Rest all drives less than 5 years old delicate darlings.
  19. One of the best used car dealer I have worked in Dubai. All staff were very friendly and eager to help. Used them once lately for getting a car for my office and I will def try them when I change my car next year.
  20. @harryd Gypsy comes with 1000 kgs weight, so 80 hp is better power to weight ratio for most of off-road you would ever venture here. Secondly it's price in India is about 600K INR (33k AED) makes even perfect zero km 4x4 in that budget that you wouldn't mind bashing in off-road. Third Maruti Suzuki Gypsy comes with too basic option to makes it a perfect "SUPER RELIABLE" car to survive in any terrain without any fancy useless features and electronics.
  21. Thanks all, but where is the list of all other major dubai traffic fines like speeding, red light jumping, lane discipline, overtaking, seatbelt, mobile etc. Another confusion that I have and never got a clarity that in Dubai, front passenger seat belt is must of not? Some says no it's not and they have been never fined by police and some says it's must. Whats the reality guys?
  22. Maruti Suzuki is one of the best known and oldest brand in Indian car segment, serving for over so many decades and sold over 10 million cars in India. How come we don't find Maruti Suzuki cars here and how no dealer supports them. I have Maruti Suzuki car in India for 16 years and it never failed on me in-spite of Indian road conditions and harsh climate. I don't mean the suzuki dealer here who keeps the 4 cars and call themselves a dealer. In India Maruti Suzuki has over 15 cars in 4 segments. We can't find the Maruti Gypsy here that has been proven rockstar for Indian off-road and all weather car voted by 100's of car magazine. Any idea from where to get new "Maruti Suzuki Gypsy" here in the UAE.....?
  23. Neo: you can pick anyone from here, closer to your location: https://carnity.com/business_listing/car-services/general-service-workshop/
  24. Well there is a saying, if you don't know driving then it's easier to get driving license here in Dubai than if you already know how to drive. Just because then your mind will accept all rules and regulation easier and will not question or resist. However there used to be a 14 classes test and get exam date once in three month than the 40 lessons one you are suggesting. Check with Emirates Driving center and Belhasa driving center they both are equally good and efficient in getting the driving exam dates faster. EDC is slightly better as they have their own examiner.
