  1. Seriously man, you went so deep to catch it. Good finding and thanks for sharing. My car isn't going to see dubz face ever.....! Anyways they are pricey now, so all the more reason to not to use.
  2. In today’s fast-paced world, owning a car is a necessity rather than a luxury and that goes even more for people living in the UAE and driving every day. It doesn’t mean that you can’t pamper your car; it just means you simply cannot do without a car these days. Whether your car is Toyota or Mitsubishi, just like other machines, every car do wear down after a certain period of time and a certain thousand kilometers. When this happens, you are faced with an axe to get it repaired or see it get deteriorate. While every one of us tries to get it fixed, there are situations when we have to decide – weather to retire it or repair it. If you are in such turmoil, here are 5 LOGICAL points that will help you take the big decision! When repairs or maintenance costs more than the car’s worth. Do some basic calculations and take the decision. Get an estimate of fixing the car from a mechanic and then take your car to a dealer. Ask him to quote the best price if you were to sale it then and there. Since now you have both the cost of repair and current worth of the car, the decision won’t be hard to make. Apply the simple “50 percent rule”, when your cars repair cost has reached to 50 percent of its worth then it’s the time to replace your old box. Safety concerns Keeping your love for your old car aside, do watch it for your own safety. Keep in mind that not only the older and carelessly maintained ones, even the well-maintained cars wear out. I would recommend you to consider all the risks of breakdown while driving. In this advanced technological world, new cars are equipped with a long list of safety features like SRS airbags, ABS+EBD (Anti-breaking system and Electronic brake force distribution), anti-theft alarm and rearview cameras. Obviously your old car would not have these unless it's an Audi R8 or Ford GT, or BMW M4 or Lexus LFA and hence your old car should be replaced. Your car is eating more gas If the car is consuming a lot of gas per kilometer, than what it was consuming a year ago, it has lost its fuel efficiency and it’s time to bid it adieu. You might know the fact, the older your car is, the less fuel-efficient it gets. Even if you get it fixed, thanks to the old technology it will get back into its bad shape and keep on asking for more fuel unless you want to save it for Cadillac Ranch or car museum purposes. Also consider the fact that the repair cost of an older car will keep on increasing with time. Follow the laws The government has laid down a few automobile rules that need to be followed while on the road. These laws state the minimum conditions that your car must meet to be on the road. Get a quick check done of your car to see if it follows all the norms. If not, it would be wise to get rid of it and invest in a better car. For the sake of LIFESTYLE Lifestyle changes and so does the society; and believe me change is good and you should be a part of it. Do you have plans of growing your family? Have you expanded your business and facing the loading problem? Dude! You are in need of a new car. Your old car might not be able to bear the all the burden and new responsibilities and hence must be replaced. Repairing or selling off is a critical decision to make. While you might be blindly in love with your automobile, sometimes the machine ceases to respond back with similar care; and when this happens, it can get harsh for your bank balance. Next time you take your old hooptie for a repair, do consider these 5 things.
  3. Toyota in UAE is definitely good, I had Land Cruiser once but didn't tried Toyota again as I find them overprice for the option they sell. I understand that they test all new tech, but why I am paying double for half the options. For some odd reason, Toyota resale value in Dubai is outrageously unreal as if its made of gold. Why....? I Dont Know....????
  4. To answer your exact question How much $ Toyota make? = 20 Billion USD in 2015 (profit) (approx.) Toyota is 78 years old company and they know this very well: what car users need and want, and that's why you see every second car is Toyota in UAE and also in almost all GCC countries. Toyota has earned this respect from so many years of research and development that Toyota Global invest in before launching any car for any region. Toyota is totally different from many car manufacturers who design and built one car with almost same size in all five continents. Toyota has at least 30-40% different cars in all different continent, suiting to that place locally to meet local demand. Going local is the secret key ingredient of Toyota success worldwide, so they don't sell 6.2 Liter car in the countries where fuel is outrageously expensive.
  5. Any new working money generation idea get plagued in months time. Looting business of sell my car and sell his car and sell all car with billions of versions seems good business model and plagued the UAE in last few years. Though I am still surprise how people are parting their cars for 50-60% of its cash value or these buggers are faking.....! I come across new stuff, and just wanna be first to share here about car switch. Too complicated mechanism and too many hassle involved, but they claim to be half of the looting vampire that of what sell any car business model is. They offer minimum price as bullshit as others and then say we will list for 10 grant more in their daunted website and share 10k in 50:50. So practically speaking I am paying them 5K to list my car in their unheard classified website. Yeah right.....! CARSWITCH REVIEW
  6. Who all are going from here....? I am going for Friday only: supercar line up yummy yummy. Hope it lives to the expectation of showing the real super cars and not junkies.
  7. Interesting discussion guys, but we all are forgetting the point that German car break less and consume less spear parts and that's why they cost more as they are much better quality built spare part than Japanese and American car parts. Same story in Japanese segment like Mitsubishi spare parts are the most expensive than Toyota, Honda and Nissan as they literally last forever. So change of brake pad for 500 AED for two years is better than 200 brake pad that lasts 3-4 months max.
  8. I have tried the Meguiar's product and they are insanely awesome, although slightly expensive than other stuff but worth every penny. For outside wax and shine, I strongly recommend Turtle, Carnuba and Formula 1. All of these available in Ace hardware auto section. Go over there and get your full kit to shine every part of the car like new. I enjoy doing this self cleaning once every month (at least).
  9. What happen if you use it quietly and dont show it to anyone, but still recording with few days overlapping video. Is OK to use but not OK to use the video....? Is that what it means?
  10. Thanks treks, for very educating and theoretical information but the guy who was claiming was the guy speaking to car technicians and while he was explaining this theory even the car technicians just noded their head and said "may be". That guy claimed that he is using this since one full year in his car w/o any problem. I don't know that guy personally but I was there present in that conversation as a third person, and kept quiet while they were talking to not to sound dumb in front of all people. Whatever it is, I think you answered my curiosity and I wouldn't bother experimenting this with any of my car for the sake of safety and associated risk involved.
  11. I heard someone saying very confidently that we should use the diesel engine oil in petrol engine, as it has much better cleaning detergent and better lubrication than the petrol engine oil for extending the long life of petrol engine. Companies uses better lubricants and detergent for diesel engines, as diesel usage create lot of sludge and sticky black substance that require hard chemical in engine oil to keep it clean. Is it really true and advisable to use diesel engine oil in petrol engine?
  12. This move is nice, if rating is done fairly and every business that get successful doesn't grow two head in next six month time and start showing same attitude of "My way or highway". I suggest that rating should be evaluated annually to see if that business is really worth of those stars or not, like KHDA rates school on annual bases and based on school rating school can hike the fees only if they are above average standard. For all average standard school, no fees hike is allowed.
  13. Very interesting thought mate, I totally agree that this should have been implemented 10 years back before parking sensor showed up, they should have installed engine heat sensors in place.
  14. Totally agree with above point, as I have always seen FJC tailgating others on road and off-road, don't know what's wrong with FJ owners. I don't drive off road, but I have joined few friends in their club drives and seen that FJC are always on steroids.
  15. I would suspect the drive shaft issue, or axle have some hair line fracture due to previous off-road abuse while jumping or hitting some rock harder.
  16. Hello, excuse me, I have few doubts: Is Lykan is same that was there in fast and furious, jumping out of the building....?Is Lykan is made by W motors as never heard their name....?Is W motor is a dubai based company.....?Whatsoever the answer, which matters for my curiosity they have done awesome styling for Lykan and this Fenyr now.
  17. Interesting development on this thread from lot of different angle. One more aspect that looks like missed till now is people expectations has grown up so much that it seems they really dont want to sell the car and just placing an ad for fun. It's all because of ads price is free at will, so if your car worth 50k but you can inflate to 80k and then think you might get lucky by a monkey who dont know the price. This actually happen in 0.00001% scenario and remaining 99.9999% it spoils the car real resale value as after seeing these inflated price, every other new private seller following same inflated pattern. And when you compare the car dealers they off course have insurance rated data based on car actual price with number of year for depreciation. Off course I know dealer is not saint and they cannot be as they need to resell the car, but the margin between the dealer price and actual listed classifieds price has grown because of people's false expectation. They have to learn to be more realistic, that's it. This is what I meant........lol.
  18. I agree with annie, but still if someone is in rush and have no time for viewing then I feel Al futtaim automall, dynatrade and 4x4 motors are kind of fair evaluater and offer almost 80% of the current market value. I have sold my 2 cars that way in past when I was in real rush to get a parking spot for my new car.
  19. Isn't this look alike an elder brother of veloster with oversize spoiler.....?
  20. Was there any error code shown in scan tool reading....? If none, then there is nothing seriously wrong and all what you have done should be enough. It's just that drive car once a month for more than 30 minutes at high speed on highway of 120 or above.
  21. This design is so sick, let alone the power and performance. Hate these car makers to lure poor civic, camry and cruiser users of the world with these sinful inventions. gggrrrr.
  22. Is this brand available here in UAE? Does this guy makes exhaust for other cars too.....?
  23. Ask your uncle to go with Japanese or German cars. American cars still lacks in reliability big time. But 2-3 months old car sound something seriously wrong and dealer should diagnose it properly.
