  1. Hi Garry. I think the first thing you need to do is be a bit more specific about the problem. To say it does sail smoothly anymore could hide a multitude of sins. It may be a transmission problem but it may not be. So, what is it doing now that it wasn't doing before? Let's have some details of the problem. You have said it hasn't been serviced for a while so this could be a start point. Where do you get it serviced? During the service ask for a full diagnostic check using VagCom. This should point to where the problem may lie. If it is the transmission then ideally the transmission fluid should be changed every 60/70,000 KMS. If yours hasn't been then I would recommend doing so. It would be wise to let Audi do this as they will use the correct fluid. An independent garage or transmission specialist may not and you do need the correct fluid or you may regret it. The transmission filter will need replacing at the same time. Audi will tell you the fluid does not need replacing but believe me, it does. Even ZF recommend replacing the fluid periodically. But first be specific about the problems you are encountering. From there we will be in a better position to help. Cheers Steve
  2. As the S8 has Quattro drivetrain, i.e. 4 wheel drive, it is difficult to spin the wheels. Also, the main reason you are not tyre squealing is that the traction control is active and preventing the wheel from spinning. Even de-activating the ESP would be unlikely to do anything. But the question I want to ask is why you want to in the first place? If you want to play at movie stars pretending you're in Hollywood then I question your motives. By something Japanese and move to a different forum.
