Safety Recall for certain 2014 -15 Ford Escape vehicles in the UAE
In coordination with the Ministry of Economy -Consumer Protection Department and in line with the commitment of the Ministry of Economy to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, Al Tayer Motors, the local importer - dealer of Ford vehicles, and Premier Motors the official dealer for Ford vehicles in Abu Dhabi, announce a safety recall campaign for certain 2014-2015 Model Year Ford Escape vehicles equipped with 2.5L IVCT petrol engines, manufactured in Spain, to reprogram the powertrain control module.
In some of the affected vehicles, the electronic steering column lock does not fully disengage allowing the possibility for the steering to lock or partially lock while driving. This could potentially lead to a loss of steering while driving.
A total of 1232 vehicles are estimated to be affected in the UAE.
Al Tayer Motors / Premier Motors will contact the affected customers to inform them about this recall. The powertrain control module will be re-calibrated to prevent full / partial locking of the steering column while driving. The recalibration will be done free of charge and every effort will be made to minimise any inconvenience caused during the short time required for the work to be carried out.
