With Ramadan starting in around 2 weeks and the weather turning hotter by the day as Summer approaches us, it is a great time to have a relaxed morning newbie drive. We can use the cooler morning hours to stay comfortable and yet fulfil our desert driving thrill by having a nice relaxed drive suited to any newbies who want to join. This drive will also enable us to gear up and learn important aspects of desert driving in the nights, as it would be scary for newbies to join in night drives straight away. Big Red area have some nice medium and big size dunes that provide plenty of opportunity for the Intermediate level drivers for a fast paced dune bashing session. We shall start at Big red and shall trace our path along some nice rolling dunes all the way to Pink Rock. There would be a lot of side slopping, ridge riding and ridge cutting involved. This drive would proceed upon minimum 4 cars registering for the drive upon by Thursday (April 25, 2019) morning. With the new group of Fewbie Drivers who have been with Carnity Off Road Club over the past few months, the time is right to up the challenge at Al Faqa Desert. This is the first time Carnity would be visiting this area this season. The area offers a varied terrain from short to long range dunes with plenty of opportunity for side slopping and ridge cutting. Depending on how the convoy feels the route can be altered a bit along the way. As the evening weather is still quite good, those who wish can stay back for a nice relaxing chat in the desert. After the last few drives in terrains that had plenty of red sand, its time to change the game a bit and have a drive through the lovely white sand starting at Lisalli and ending Al Qudra. This area offers some nice medium range dunes that would offer plenty of opportunity for side slopping and ridge crossing. Also, if lucky we would be sighting gazelles and oryx the closer we get to Al Qudra. Once we reach Al Qudra, we can sit down for a nice chat around one of the lakes and have barbecue (if interested). With the season in full swing and amazing cool weather it's time to have another absolute newbie or newbie level drive. All first timer absolute newbie will be given a proper introduction of sand off-roading before they start, from seasoned offroaders having over decades of UAE offroad experience. Idea is to make an absolute newbie comfortable with sand off-roading and in some of the most approachable set of sand dunes in Tawi Nizwa side. It's a perfect drive for people aspiring to start dune bashing or offroading in the sand as a new hobby and wish to explore the UAE offroad, natural beauty and unleash the hidden power of your 4x4 vehicle. For newbies, it's a perfect drive to learn more and advance to fewbie level and start enjoying more advance level drives as per your offroad grades. All experienced members are requested to join in helping newbies by imparting their off-road expertise. Since we have so many new joiners and a lot of them are very excited to move on to the next level. This is the ultimate drive to upgrade yourself to the Fewbie level. No new joiners please, this will be a perfect way for anybody who has done at least 3 to 4 drives at the newbie level, is very confident on the terrains we have used so far and looking to grow in confidence and move on to the newbie level. It's time to move forward to the next level, make sure you go through the grading structure and equip yourselves with the tools recommended for this level.
