  1. I have never been a big fan of the Toyota Corolla. It always looked to me like it was designed by an accountant on a Sunday morning. Driving it was also never an exhilerating experience. It did what it had to do, and the cabin was well put together, but never gave a real welcoming feeling. That was also mostly due to the fact that most people here in UAE buy the basic models, which suits them well as company tradesman car, rental car, or simple reliable commuter car. And in that aspect the Corolla has been a huge success. The resale value of a well maintained Corolla with acceptable mileage has always been above average, and you can bet your sweet tooth on it that if you'd put one on Dubizzle in decent condition, that within 1 day it would be sold. Now, looking at the 2020 Corolla which is now available in both Hybrid and Petrol versions, the new model looks more sleek, modern, and is becoming more and more like a Junior Lexus, which is not a bad reference. The Hybrid, having a 1.8 litre engine on board accompanied by 16-Volt electric motors, is clocking in at 95,500 AED. Having 121Hp and 142Nm of Torque are not world shocking results, but with a fuel economy of 3.9 l/100 km we are looking at a damn fine commuter car. Petrolheads amongst us that want to stay true to the black fossil blood, will have the choice between either a 1.6 at 121hp / 154Nm, or 168hp / 200Nm for the 2.0 litre version. The base model will be available from 71,900 AED onwards, Transmissions are CVT, which are partly responsible for the excellent fuel economy numbers. There are as many haters as there are lovers of the CVT trannies. I'm not fond of them as they take away a lot of the driver's engagement in how the car revs and behaves, but for the Candy-Crush playing commuters it will hardly make any difference. Toyota being a company of no surprises does again what it does best: make a car that will sell, no questions asked. Competition has been strong the last couple of years, especially from the Koreans which boast more exciting designs and lower prices, but high resale value kept the Corolla in the top spot and that will likely not change soon.
  2. ANNOUNCEMENT Special Service Campaign Statement: Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris -Airbag Inflator, Model Years 2012-2008 United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 5th December 2016: Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, released the following statement: "In coordination with the UAE Ministry of Economy — Department of Consumer Protection, and in line with the directives of the Ministry of Economy, Al-Futtaim Motors announces a special service campaign for the Toyota Corolla and ToyotaYaris, model years 2008 — 2012, which will begin immediately." United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 5th December 2016: Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, released the following statement: "Following communication with Toyota Motor Corporation, we have started a campaign for 40,551 units of the Toyota Corolla and ToyotaYaris model years 2008 - 2012 in the UAE. The involved vehicles are equipped with Takata produced front driver and passenger airbag inflators which contain propellants that could degrade after prolonged exposure to high humidity and temperatures. In the interests of delivering the highest standards of Toyota quality and customer care, Al-Futtaim Motors has begun contacting customers with affected models to inform them about the situation and arrange service bookings accordingly. For further clarification, customers may contact the Al-Futtaim Motors Customer Care Centre on 800-Toyota (800 869682) from 8.00am - 700pm, Saturday to Thursday. 3. I never had any big issue so far with this car. Until when I gone for an oil change and my local garage guy told me that my oil was really really low a month before on a first time, now before 3 days he told me the same thing ""Oil is very very low"". I been curious about to know why? Simply because my oil was not dripping and I don't travel a lot. well yesterday when I was came home after Abu Dhabi client meeting, I felt my car started out rattling like the engine is likely to fall down, I observed that my oil light will come on whenever I break for a few an after few minutes goes away. I did not understood this and did car to think of it because of getting late in the evening. Just before reaching to my home in Sharjah I again felt that the rattling the disturbance had gotten more intense so I took it in to car store and there the guy is saying that my engine oil was bone dried. I don't understand why!! Just 5 days back I changed the engine oil. Can anybody suggest what could be a possible repair for this issue? Is it a problem with oil or something else?? I am damn afraid because my car is too old now. Before seeing in dead I think I should repair and sell it??
  4. I am facing a massive uses of excessive oil in my corolla, well It my very first car bought in 2001 end in November, Now the car had a run of 200000 km approx. Honestly, I was pretty much aware about its common issue faced by lot of customer about the excessive oil consumption, but at this point of time my friend its drinking oil like a water!!. It seem that oil if burning pretty quicker than before. I don’t want to be a part of joke now as it really burning oil better than gas. I never thought to repair it because I know it’s very old but honestly guy the problem is I cannot afford a new or used car at the current stage, also cannot work without a car because I used to travel daily from Sharjah to Abu Dhabi. Please help with the possible repair with no extra cost or time. I wish no one else will have such weird situation with car. Is there a possible action that I can take to make it again same like I bought it before with fair oil consumption or I will have to rent a car for sure and sell this one for limited period of time. Hope you guy understand my concern. Please help.
