  1. Hi (again) As a new Toyota owner and new to using a 4x4 for its intended purpose, off-road, I need a little advice from my fellow Toyota Owners with regards service intervals. I am trained over the past 9 years to service my car annually (as I never previously hit the mileage milestone) and with a service pack never really read any documents as it was a matter of a reminder being sent on SMS and pick up the car a few days later. My car: FJC 2020 (registered October 31st this year) 4 year service contract Averaging 2k per month KMs so hitting service schedules much sooner than planned Added to this a reasonable % of this mileage is done off-road I know I need to call the dealership for a number of these asks below however their service departments isn’t exactly responsive so as I wait thought I would ask our community: Advice needed #1 according to the Owners Manual, if you are using the car regularly on dusty road then the service interval for a few items are adjusted (brought forward). ASK # 1 – Does a weekly desert drive qualify my driving/car as having ‘regular’ off road use? #2 above is a screen shot from the owners manual that details the items that need to be done earlier if using off road regularly ASK #2 – have any of you fellow Toyota owners with a service pack, bothered to use the included service for this maintenance? Would it be a waste of that service entitlement as I only get 7 (covering 4 years) ASK #2A – if you fellow service pack owners advise to keep the included services for the main milestones (every 10k KM) then do you simply go to an: Independent garage and have the filter and oil replaced + Prop Shaft greased and tightened OR do you pay the dealership tax and get that task done at the dealership to not risk any void warranty? OR just buy the Toytota official Oil filter and have the work done offsite/independent #3 and ASK#3 – any FJC owners able to advise me on any items to watch out for / have looked at as I now take the car weekly into the desert and it being only a few months old? I am following the guidance in the forum to check fluid levels prior and post drive (oil, coolant, power steering and brake) I have done 3K KM so far and the oil on the dip stick looks as good as new and the fluids haven’t shifted at all (good news I guess) Thank you in advance
  2. Hi everyone, I'm looking for a good mechanic or service center who can solve a number of issues with my 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe. I live in Abu Dhabi so something in Mussafah would be good, Dubai is okay too as long as the issues can be fixed properly. Not a fan of Juma Al Majid for a number of reasons their long wait times and ridiculous customer service being the main reasons. A quick list of the main issues that need to be addressed: AC compressor has become weak, needs replacement Recently replaced shock absorbers (<10,000 km), car rides lower than normal ever since, feels bouncy on mildly uneven roads and bit unstable around corners. Humming sound when going around roundabouts, braking, slowing down and during gradual acceleration. I suspect wheel alignment. Car jerks when putting the car into D or R from Park. Feels like the clutch is not properly engaged. Initial acceleration feels sluggish for the past 10,000 km. Sunroof motor requires replacement. Noisy door closing sounds of both front doors. Both rear door hinges need replacement. Some small electrical issues, requires some fuse replacements. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions. Cheers, Fayad
  3. Hello, What are the normal service charges for Nissan Xtrail (Excluding Air Filter). I contacted Arabian Automobile for doing 20K service and they charged me AED 1050 for simple service and 450 extra for AC filter. Are these normal charges for Xtrail service? Please advise if it is good to do services at agency or can be done outside?

  13. Dear Members, I am now in serious need of help / advice regarding my FJ now. Since my last visit to Al-Futtaim automall service center in Deira, it has been hell for me. First there were some issues of vibration and some metallic noise and then got an expensive fix from the same service center. I was mad for the fact that "AFTER" the complete and comprehensive service was done why anything was missed. Anyhow that passed. Then I had issue of tyres which by your kind suggestions (in my last topic), I got "Geolandar A/T" and were doing fine. (4 brand new tyres). Now just yesterday during a normal road drive, all of sudden I felt some vibrations. Thing didn't seem right all of sudden and I immediately pulled over to hard shoulder. Upon inspection and trying to restart the car, the engine will start but car won't move an inch. Had to call the recovery and the car once AGAIN lies at al-futtaim. I was literally having my blood boil that after spending almost 10k (full service + previous repairs + tyres), I am back to zero. So I had to once again rent a car and now completely on mercy of al-futtaim again. Kindly suggest me a way out as I don't know what to write or ask here based on above experience. Thanks and Many Regards
  14. I would like to mention a complaint against Ford UAE. i have a 2013 ford Edge dubai. the car is 2 year old and it was misfiring while doing high speed quickly, with the check engine light on. ford uae does not want to cover it on warranty stating that the problem is with the fuel and not with the car. the car only have 66000km on my meter with full service history it should be covered till 100000km or 5 years. please help and find a solution for this. otherwise i will be forced to spread this experience with ford to everyone.
  15. Hello guys, This is I believe my first post in the forum although I've been a member for couple of years and reading others posts passively. I need to ask you if you know a good (not Juma Majid) service center in Sharjah (preferable) or Dubai that offers good Hyundai service at an affordable price. My wife's car Sonata 2009 is obviously out of warranty, and the Petrol Gauge and the Engine Temperature Gauge are not functioning (Petrol gives wrong reading and Temperature is not working at all), I took it to Juma Majid and they said the whole cluster unit should be replaced (estimated cost is 2,500 AED), the whole car value is 20,000 something, and the car is not heavily driven (less than 15,000 km per year, we're around end of 2015 and the car has a bit over 60,000 km on the odometer), yet I still prefer to have it fixed (especially engine temperature), also I wouldn't mind having the gas pump checked as the throttle is not responsive sometimes. Thank you all in advance for your valuable feedback
