defective flywheel

Recommended Posts

Car flywheel is a crucial part of the car system that one needs to take care of. Check for the following things in your corolla, 2007 model:

  1. Slippery Gear: If you have manual transmission car, and you feel that it’s difficult for you to change the gears in your car. If the gear is slipping back to the previous gear and not jumping to the next one, it can be because of the defective flywheel. The grinding noise from the gear is a common noise you hear when the flywheel goes back. The oil gets contaminated in this case and also there is no proper friction in the car. Whenever you try to jump to the next gear, your car will not speed up to the required time and may take a longer time to do that.
  2. Toasted Smell: If you can realize a toasting bread smell in your car, it means the flywheel is not working properly. There are lots of people who press clutch for no reason sometimes. This is called unnecessary clutch driving. This type of driving results into bad smell which means excessive heat in the clutch.
  3. Too much vibration: When there is vibration in the clutch whenever you press it, its sign of failing flywheel. This kind of vibration you can actually feel on the ground of the car. Don’t ignore such a thing, as it will surely fail the clutch of your car. It happens when the flywheel has no ability to produce the high pulses in the car. Vibration is really bad coming from the clutch, as it not only affects the clutch component but the complete flywheel system.

If you are facing these problems in your car it means you have defective flywheel. And defective flywheel needs to be diagnosed as soon as possible. SO don’t wait for other defects in your car, and take your back to the dealer.
