high transmission fluid

Excess of transmission fluid is not really good for a car. There are certain things that can probably go wrong when the transmission fluid is too high.

  1. Foaming fluid: When the fluid is in excess quantity, it makes foam in the transmission fluid tank. This is not really good for your driving. The gear shifting becomes erratic. That turns up to be a huge problem for the car as the transmission gets damaged ultimately.
  2. Transmission damage: There is a high probability of transmission damage. The damaged transmission means big loss for you. To replace the transmission is a big job which is going to cost lot of money and time.
  3. Oil starvation: The oil level ultimately will go down and sometimes the oil gets burned as well. And you must be aware, what happened when the oil starts burning. It’s a big risk on your car. It will surely get overheated. Once the engine gets overheated, it directly affects the radiator, water pump and head gaskets. And there are some parts in the engine which are supposed to be replaced if they are damaged. There is no repair possible.

To avoid such a thing, however you must always keep a keen notice on the level of your transmission fluid. But if the level is already high, you can pump out some of the fluid from the transmission. But don’t do it on your own, if you have never performed a DIY task on your car. It’s easy. Use a hand pump or thin tube to flush off the excess fluid. Also change the transmission fluid from time to time as the used fluid sometimes loses their lubricant qualities after a particular time. The transmission fluid with time becomes brown/black which means that the transmission fluid needs to be changed.
