Electric Hybrid

I know there i a huge competition between automakers today but i would love to open discussion and hear about your thought. What do you think why VW still didn't release diesel electric - hybrid engine yet ? 

 

By my knowledge the advantage of this is better fuel efficiency and of course cost of ownership. Maybe im not good informed but i still didn't heard about this kind of VW

That's a good question and I am afraid that I don't have the right answer. Maybe they are developing some more efficient engine. It is true that these engines are still in some kind of beta phase.
