Cayenne Turbo low fuel mileage causes

Recommended Posts

My 2006 Cayenne turbo started giving considerably lower fuel mileage since a month and it's getting worst every week. Almost a month back it was close to 16L/100 and now it's touching down to 20L/100. Thankfully I am tracking the fuel mileage on every fill-up so I notice this and checking if anything requires any attention.

Car is regularly serviced with Al Naboodah and last service was done 4 months back and still has 6,000 kms to next service. Wondering if there is anything I can do to check this issue before it becomes a major issue. Thanks guys in advance.

This normally happens when you hit the gas way too much all the time and keep engaging the turbo after every minute or two. I had 22L/100 mileage when I got same car and after 2-3 weeks later I started getting around 17-18 L/100.

This car is engine oil hungry and I hope you know that every 1000 kms you need to pour 1 liter fully synthetic engine oil in engine....? In any case check the engine oil level first and update.

Let's root for each other & watch each other grow.

Check the tire pressure, as in low profile tires if you have then it's too hard to guess the right pressure by just looking at it. And if tire pressure is seriously low then it impact the fuel mileage serious and very soon tires will also have more fatigue and require replacement sooner. I know it sounds so small, but it's worth checking.
