Why do people tilt their car wheels?

I have seen few cars on road with tilted wheels, and don't know what to call them but I am curious to know why they tilt wheels and what is the advantage for that? I know people lower their car for looks and better aerodynamic but what is the relation with titling wheels...? Thanks.

It's called camber. You can adjust it to control how much of the surface of your tyre touches the road. Very useful if you have a race car. But now the kids do it because it 'looks cool'.

It's called stance and usually done to improve the cornering for high speed cornering requirement in racing. People these days are over-doing it just to look cool and have that unique identity from the crowd. Tilting it anyway more than 3 degree will screw everything in the car mechanics from tires, axle, driveshaft, and even the fuel economy.
