Reasons for engine oil level going down

@shadow79 why not go all the way and top it up with 80w90?

I used to have an old Ford Escort with a 1300 Xflow engine for scooting back and forward in. Bearings were completely shot in it. Couldn't get any oil pressure unless I topped the engine up with a pint of 80w90. Ended up with a snapped crank 😬

Barry def oil will definitely give you those magic moments...while these deposit making oils will shut the leak and also the engine will run bit quiet as the oil is bit thick :-D

I can do you one better. I once had a (previously owned) Triumph Chicane that did not have bearings at all. I put about 60 000 or so km on it before it started knocking, which was when I discovered that instead of metal bearings, it had pieces of leather on the con-rods and the mains. These "bearings" had little holes punched into them, presumably to aid in lubrication, but not only that, this engine had the shiniest crank I had ever seen.
