The Fusion is an American mid-size sedan that was launched in the Middle East in 2008.

Pegged just below the similar sized Mondeo, the Fusion has been refreshed for the 2010 model year and features considerable improvements including a revised exterior, interior and powertrain choices.

The 2010 model is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, which produces 175bhp and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Built primarily for the American market the Fusion has a loud fascia with plenty of chrome splattered on the big three-bar grille, fog lamps and air intake surrounds. The Mexico-built Fusion is available in three trim versions; S, SE and high-end SEL which comes with lots of useful equipment. Standard kit on the S includes 17-inch alloy wheels, power windows & locks, CD/MP3 audio system, air conditioning with air filtration system, power mirrors and speed sensitive windshield wipers.

The fully loaded SEL comes further equipped with leather seats and steering, power front seats, SYNC Bluetooth system, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, fog lamps, dual exhausts and a door mounted keyless entry pad. Options include rear parking sensors, rear spoiler, navigation system and a power moonroof. Standard safety kit is rather comprehensive and includes dual front airbags, front-seat side airbags, curtain airbags, ABS and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

The Fusion’s interiors are spacious both in the front and the rear and the car has a large boot as well. The seats are supportive and wide while the rear seats split and fold to liberate more luggage space. Build quality is good and the Fusions feels like it will endure years of use.
