loss of power

when driving for a long distance the car looses power tried to start the car for zillion times but no luck and then i am stranded

i called the recovery guy and when i started the car to move the gear the car started

why did this happen

There could be so many reasons and most of them could be electrical issues. So better get the car on recovery and go to diagnostic guys who have good OBD II, ford computer (not general all purpose X launch) and drill down in sub category to see what malfunction is recorded.
