shallals
Hi Everyone, I am a new and proud BMW owner and am already loving this forum. Would just like to ask one question. I have a 2007 530i and the alert popped up on my idrive stating that I must "Add" engine oil as it is at its minimum. Does that mean I need to go for a full on oil change or do I just top up the engine oil? Also, where would be a place I could purchase this engine oil to top it up myself? Thanks in advance fellas! bmguy
This message clearly means top up, not changing whole engine oil. For changing whole engine oil you will see service icon with spanner on Idrive. Secondly for topping up you can buy any engine oil like castrol shell or Mobil 1. If you know which brand has been used in past then its better, if you dont know then it wont make any big difference in topping up 500 ml oil in 5 liter quantity. If you have service detail then find out which oil brand has been used and also which spec (Mineral, semi synthetic or synthetic)????

Mamuka87
You just need to top it up with 500ml of oil. Usually BMs are good with castrol or mobil oils. There is also a workshop in Sharjah that has original BMW Motor Oil.
