Rear Bumper Replacing.

My car met with an accident where the rear bumper is having a dent and there are no cracks or anything else anywhere. Mechanic says the bumper cannot be fixed and has to be replaced( the other guys insurance is covering it) but i think it is possible to repair it.

My question is that if he will repair the old one saying he has installed a new one and later will i have a problem and if dose replace it will it be original one?

What should i do?

Getting bumper replaced is good and for authentication take to a good mechanic who will tell you if its original or not.

Since you already have the problem covered by insurance, why not just use it. Try not to collaborate with the mechanic so that you can manipulate the insurance.
