Major service at 160,000km. What parts to replace?

Recommended Posts

I have just approached 160,00 km millage in my Pajero 3.0L and need to do a major service on my car. Any advice what parts to be replaces at such millage? Previous major service was done at 110,000km and timing belt with related parts was replaced.

Please advise what other parts shall I replace at my millage.

Thanks,

Voytek

I would like to know the answer to this too...however as I have not reached that milestone yet, I am closer to 90K kms now.

Any recommendations to things to watch out for as I near 100K.

Thanks

Hi

Gaurav just made it for you good.

I just wanted to add couple of tips

- be sure that engine is cold when you change spark plugs (since you need to remove air intake manifold to have access to replace the spark plugs)

- replace gearbox oil and filter with originals only and if you find the oil contains metal slugs don't replace it and top it up and just replace the filter)

Well I only got once minor service with Habtoor when my Pajero has some strange missing problem that used to fluctuate the idle. Habtoor costed me 660 after discount and still problem remain same saying car is too old and engine is gone bad and they need 3000 dhs to diagnose.

Bit of googling and some educated member here, pointed to replace ICV (Idle control Valve) that was 300-400 dhs and instantly the idle fluctuation gone.

My rough estimate for major service habtoor might ask for 2500 - 3000 dhs, outside with any good competent garage you can get it for 1000 - 1500 dhs range. Major service actually varies big time on number of things required replacement.

Check with @Barry if they do major service for older Pajero, you have my strong recommendation for awesome knowledge at very competitive pricing.
