it's a re-marked ford sierra!!

It is a Sierra with a different badge but the Merkur came with a 2.3 turbocharged engine, the Sierra came with 2.8 and 2.9 N/A engines in XR4 form. 

Also check out the Sierra XR8. Very rare car. Came with a Mustang 302 engine.
