Which year was last E39 made?

Just drove one of my old friend 2001 525i and i loved the real BMW feel unlike new plastic feel. Want to buy one, clean one now but want to buy the most latest one. Any idea until what last year this E39 came in...?

Any pitfall, or known issue for specific model advise would be kind enough. Cheers.

the E39 was produced till April 2004 (525i, 530i, 540i)... the M5 was produced only till 2003.

The main problems with the 8 Cylinder (535i and 540i) are issues with the cooling system. The repair is quite expensive. I had a 1999 540i a couple of years ago. I loved the performance but I also got the cooling system issues...

The most reliable E39 were the 525i the 530i (192 HP + 231 HP).

ah ya sorry... I meant the radiator (water cooling system) not the AC!

E39 made until 2003 in GCC specs, 2004 had new shape and more plastic introduced. E39 is my most favorite car of all time, nice BM feel unlike today's car. Ground hugging and solid feel.
