Hi, I got my air intake from volant (amazon). And installed myself and love it for the 1st week of driving. X seems more responsive now. Anyways I am worried on the warranty as its only 26kms on my x. Do I need to keep it hush from the service people? Put in stock before I take her for service or is it ok?

Thanks.

G.

Yes g69, they will not say anything but make a remark in ur service history that you are using different air filter. And the day you ask them to change anything like wiper fluid, blade, tire which has no connection to air filter use, they will simply say ur warranty is void. They need any simple minutest change to put blame to void warranty. They did same with me when one of my tire was swollen which is clearly a manufacturing defect and they just blame my K&N air filter as this air filter must have produced 1 trillion more horse power to spoil the tire.

Hi Daniel,

Thanx for replying...

ill give you an example of my Honda accord i had owned and moved to my brother, i called up Honda before i added a sound system, and checked with them if the warranty is voided, they told me a very simple answer, anything i modify is my responsibility, if for example i burn the wires or something stops working I have to pay to fix, rest all is covered under warranty! if electronic seats, ac, shocks, gearbox, etc etc stops working because of my sound system this is not logical (lol).

i had no problem with Honda, never troubled by them neither i had any issues with the car, i hardly remember if anything was replaced under warranty (all my services till date are with them as simple as that).

my friend bought Nissan, and started skipping services because the waiting time was too long for services back then, when he took the car for a major service they said warranty is voided and he has to pay all the services which were missed, he never went back to them and later after few months he got a call (during crisis) that he can start servicing his car and the warranty is still there. hahahaha

anyways, my question to Nissan would be the same, is there any law or rules which clearly stated when i purchased the truck, that if i even change tires outside their service center the warranty will be voided? is this warranty a joke which can be voided so easily?

if this is the case, i will ask them to give me in writing from their warranty department, that because of my sound system which i have added and the air filter the warranty is voided. (rest will be decided after that).
