tobye
My mechanic says that the O2 sensors on the exhaust pipe need to be changed but i dont know why when i just went for getting the fuel filter changed as the car was giving bad fuel efficiency . My question is if i change the o2 sensors do all of them get changed and what are their functions.
antee
the sensor makes sure that the air and fuel is mixed in correct ratio if the air is more then the fuel quality will decrease and if the air is less then the fuel will leave residue that will harm the car again and exhaust too. franknic
O2 sensor may be a small part of the car that is usually ignored but if not changed on time it could cost you your car's engine.

tobye
The reason you didnt get your answer yet is because you didnot create you own separate post.
blackArmada_DXB
The thread has been created long ago, but I will give my inputs on this anyway. If there is no Check Engine Light (CEL) then the O2 sensors are probably working fine. A CEL doesnt always mean that O2 sensors need to be changed. You should hook up a diagnostic tool to the OBDII port and get the DTCs and then troubleshoot and solve the error. Would have saved you $$$.
