Where is the Ignition Control Module Located in VW Passat?

Here is the image from google showing ICM (Iginition Control Module) in Volkswagen Passat. Hope it helps.

Main cause of ICM failure is the heat and super heat in this region. I propose that by seperating your ICM from its heatsink, cleaning the mating surfaces, and re-applying new thermal grease you can prolong the life of your ICM. In Dubai this step should be done once a year, at the begining of the summer as a lot of anecdotal evidence has led me to believe that these failures are more common during warmer weather.
