  1. With regards to the same subject, lately and during last Friday drive Goldy started acting strangely when on P or N , rpm playing up and down and noticed Black smock from exhost when motor and RPM goes down and then jump up again. On other occasions the car used sometime to go Off , but then I thought from the battery and it was changed with new one . Initially at start up the Rpm jump high around 1800 +or so and after a while starts going down to settle at 1000 and I think that is just due to cold engine in the morning . When shifting to D Rpm goes and settle on around 800. On the other hand I felt lately that the car is driving itself I.e. keeping crawling while on drive yet without injecting petrol is that normal , additionally started hearing strange noise from the rear side of the car like a bee humming . Put off the engine the turned to contact and same noise was identified and it is from the petrol pump. Do you think the car is pointing at a problem that I need to address it . What do you think is it from the MAF or Petrol Pump !!!????

  6. We made it for the first time LR only Desert Drive . Everything went as per schedule , we have been total of 6 cars, 2 Discos I, 2 Defenders, 1 RR Classic and 1 Brand New LR4 . Meeting point was Emarat Petrol station on Kalba Road , all participants had showed up on time and full of morning energy . Richard (Doc) had his two lovely boys sleeping in the back seat yet ready for action . VCO's car couldn't make it still sick at garage , yet he joined us as passenger in Doc's car . Head to deflation point , exit of 3 interchange on time at 7:00 am deflated , checked all radios and a short brief from Marshal leader Doc , agreed upon an easy track yet with some technicalities to test cars and drivers capabilities as first drive together. First destination was Fossil Rock , everyone made it with a bit of resistance due to very soft patch of sand . We bypassed Fossil Rock pass and continued towards Camel Rock and reached by 8:30 and decided to continue to Big Red. Few Km from Big Red , DOC's Coolent hose had a fissure due to rubbing against fans belt , where we stopped and been temp fixed with VCO and Gas ( me) assistance others had time for some play and refreshments . Continued to main road and wished to meet again more often in 2012 . It was great company and meeting fun people like myself . I hope everyone had enjoyed today trip and thank you all for attending yet we missed the other members that they couldn't make it . Thank you: Richard, Manuel, Arif, Volcan, Naushad & Aftab and Gaurav yes as well as Scott for assisting in pictur taking and his brother ( sorry forget the name ) for covering up some tummies !! picture I will leave to others to post as I was sweeping the sand today finding a lost part of lR4 Plastic Front Fender!!! 12. Hi Gaurav, Fantastic , I had a friend with an RR HSE 4.6L I think with Coil Springs an Low Profile Tiers and he used to make it everywhere, yet he cut out the front and back bumper. The only problem with low profile tiers and deflation and POP-OUT issues. But I think you can try it over. Yet await Marshal (DOC) opinion. Gas

  16. My only problem for this weekend, that I have work every Friday and Saturday is a family day that I can skip few hours in the morning. Yet for this weekend, I have to drop some family members at Airport at 7:00 am on Saturday and therefore, it will be very hard to catch the fun. For that reason I am keen on any drive in the morning this Friday as a yearend Closure!

  18. Well Done, Bravo, Hats Off, Thumbs up!!! What to say, we felt really shame that we couldn't join, I speak in the name of any real Land Rover Owner and enthusiast of such an off road legend!!! Great preparation and gear that anyone would like to have , but yet a good chunk of an inv$$$! But safety and wellbeing of family and children comes first. Surely, need to re-organize another one. Maybe a full day outing first, just to test our skills and cars capabilities. The last time I had starter failure that we been obliged to tow the Disco 1 from Fossil Rock down to Maliha where we replaced it. Pictures are out of this world and could be described as those legendary drives ( yet a bit too clean for those Camel Trophy Expeditions ) Fantastic !!!
  19. Great yet missing front recovery points . Make sure to have proper ones!!!
  20. Dear Rovers, Hope you reached home safe and sound and celebrated Christmas till late last night that we didn't had any updates!!! Merry Christmas and all are eager to have trip report and certainly pictures load of them please!!!!!
