AC blower has no connection with overheating. Save yourself hassle and get second opinion from good qualified honest technician.
Overheating main causes are as follows.
Radiator should have enough coolant
Radiator expansion bottle should have enough coolant too.
Thermostat should be working fine (inside radiator hose).
AC fan should be working in both speed.
Water pump should be working and pumping the water from radiator to engine chamber and vice versa.

If car started then battery role play is very limited to nothing at all.
If loosing power while driving, then check the spark plug, air filter is clean?, Fuel filter is fine etc.
If car is not starting at all (thats what no power you mean), Check the starter relay if you are so sure that battery is fine. Try jump start the car to see if battery is fine or not too.

The hoses from the heater switch go to the different air doors in the AC/heater plenum. You also might have a number of hoses going through the firewall that connect to either manifold vaccum, vacuum canisters, or the heater core valve. I suggest you lie on your back and check the AC/heater plenum first. If there is an air door control mechanism missing a hose this is probably where it goes. Good luck!
