  1. For buying new one for discovery will be lot expensive, why not check with used part guys. I knwo one guy guy in sharjah helped me once with used part, you can check with him (050 5866311) dont remember his name, sorry. For buying new one you can check the rates with Gulf star or National auto, their contact has been listed in business listing section here.

  2. I love this new defender man. Thank god after 50 years LR REALIZED that design is also key factor in selling cars and that's why they were making huge losses and sold company to TATA. Unfortunate for them and fortunate for Indians to keep hold of oldest legacy in successful modern day cars.

I am sure Indians must have come with idea or thought process of changing design, to compete with other brands in offroad segment.

  3. you must first check the horn fuse if it is working as replacing the fuse will a money and time saving change

If the fuse is good then the horn has to be changed

    Below is the procedure :-

    a) First disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

Description of the wire is a black wire extending from the battery to the frame of the vehicle.

    B) Second is to locate the car's horn.

Description it is under the hood in one of three places usually:

it could be near the car's battery OR above the left or right wheel-well or near the front grille.

Disconnect the power supply wire from the rear of the horn. Then place it into the replacement horn.

    c) Mount the horn to the vehicle.

Description remove and replace the entire mounting bracket. by using a screwdriver (kind varies, usually Phillips). and also you will need to prepare receiving holes for the remounting.

    d) To finish the process just reconnect the battery grounding wire and test the horn.

  4. Harmonic balance is a method used to calculate the steady-state response of electrical circuits. It is a frequency domain method for calculating the steady state, as opposed to the various time-domain steady state methods. The name "harmonic balance" is descriptive of the method, which starts with Kirchoff's Current Law written in the frequency domain and a chosen number of harmonics. Effectively the method assumes the solution can be represented by a linear combination of sinusoids, then balances current and voltage sinusoids to satisfy Kirchoff's law. The method is commonly used to simulate circuits which include nonlinear elements.

  5. Coolant get disappeared is more serious issue than headlight. There is no way in the world cooling water can seep in headlight. But leave that part for the moment and deal with cooling water leak.

Check the expansion bottle is leaking?

    Any hoses are leaking?

    Radiator is leaking?

And get that fix FIRST or else engine overheating turn many things FUGLY.

Once it is sorted, get to headlight and find out from where that headlight is broken to let water go inside as usually headlights are SEALED one piece assembly so that dust, water and moisture cant go inside. Once you found that leak, remove the whole headlight assembly and drain the water from same hole and let it air dry it for a day in sunlight. Once headlight is completely dry and free from water and moisture then seal that hole with M-Seal or silicone and re fix the headlight back in.

  6. You need to figure out where the short circuit is happening, as no fuse get blown without a reason. And with this issue i would spend good time in figuring out where the hell some wires getting short circuit. Check around manifold if some loose hanging wire touching the exhaust manifold or something else. If cant find it show to some good electric technician and they will figure out with right tools and behind the dashboard too.

  7. If the noise is like frr frr from down the car and increases while you give gas then exhaust or exhaust pipes have hole which is leaking the exhaust gases and making this noise. Some time it also sound bit whistling with it. That hole / holes can be welded by exhaust repair guys in 20 dhs.

If something is clanking or rattling inside exhaust then some of the glass fiber filter is broken inside the exhaust and you need to change the exhaust mufler (dibba). Original must be around 500 dhs or less and labour another 50 dhs.

  8. Are you using red or green coolant?

If red then it could be coolant so check all radiator and surround plumbing for any leak.

If 100% sure its dexron then it could be from gear oil too if its not golden one, hmm thts biggy. Better get it check all fluid level check and again check after two weeks and see which one deplete more. Rangie owner never complain of wet marks on garage as Range never leaks it just mark its territory.
