  1. Depends a bit what you want to use it for. Having the Front Runner Slimline. Alloy and with a smart system to mount accessories in a flexible way. Lots of accessories available and the D90 stays below 2.10m if not lifted, interesting for parking. It comes without a frame, means you can mount a tent on it.
  2. I have a Nanocom, should work with Defender and Disco. What you want to do?
  3. Kim Merrit will like that, he has an LR3 and thinks about modifying it to that extend! Whatever is easiest for you!
  4. We will have quite plenty Defenders I guess, new ones are missing LR3? Even Series I will be around and other historical ones. But whatever you bring, great to see you there!
  5. Easily recognizable rides! Nice to have you on here! See you Friday! Which one will you bring?
  6. Just the lamp protection front and rear, small things, paint comes off. Nothing urgent or serious.
  7. Awesome ride Tom! Hope to meet you very soon! Next drives will be announced here in a bit, most likely begin of Feb since we are all busy with preparations of longer trips the upcoming week.
  8. Ah, cool, didn't know that they handle it as well. Probably more expensive than a direct contact, but at least well done.
  9. Hi VCO, I have a Nanocom, we can check at one of the next drives.
  10. I swapan, no worries, here will be more announced! Join one of the next ones.
  11. LOL...indeed, yes And the other white one was Arif. Looking forward seeing you as well, plenty of trips being organized.
  12. Hey Adi, have ween seen you at the 30th in the morning between Big Red and Fossil Rock? Together with a Pick Up? Nice Defender you got!
  13. Thanks for the nice post Gaurav! It was real fun and now we can start to tighten up the screw of difficulty Consider this drive as a warm up. Land Rovers and Range Rovers can go way further than that. Well driven, I do believe that they are ahead of other cars. And on top of that, it's a great brand Happy that everyone enjoyed!
  14. Likewise! Always happy to see new faces and it will be fun for sure! Best, Manuel
  15. 1. Doc 2. Gas 3. Manuel 4. VCO 5. LR3 (50%) 6. .... 7. ...
  16. 1. Doc 2. Gas 3. Manuel 4. .... 5. .... 6. .... That makes thre already I still have the tent on the car since I plan to have an overnight on Friday... Should I better take it off? Depends on the terrain.
  17. It's quite early Tempted though... There are two other drives for that weekend planned. One on Friday 12.30pm and the other one 7.30am on Saturday. Not sure which one I join, but will figure out asap!
  18. What is your budget? As doc said, it's all possible when throwing money on it. There are conversion kits around, I think it's ashcroft. The price in the UK is about 4k GBP plus fitting. The other option would be indeed to fit in a petrol engine, but you still need the Defender specific parts for the automatic lever, pedals etc. Not sure if that wouldn't be more expensive. Or you find one somewhere in Sharjah and fit it into your Defender. I would be careful with the Japan imports, they are know for a rather poor reliability.
  19. For the garage you can check with a2b. They know Land Rovers and Range Rovers quite well. Question is why you want to change? You can even get the diesel up to 220hp with massive torque. It's still a diesel though and manual.
  20. Hey VCO, we felt all sorry when we heard that! But see it positive, your Landie let you know in the morning that he was sick, rather then on the track. That makes him most reliable again! We will surely do it again and you can pack your car again, be prepared!
  21. Hey Gas, sorry, the writeup is coming in a bit! See some pics here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 854&type=3 You surely missed that one! Was great fun and success! And the Defender just needs a recovery point in the back....to tow others out
  22. Fantastic! Great car, love the look! Mine is ready as well, as usual always ready And all packed as well.
  23. I am not sure, but I think at the Dibba boarder post there should be an insurance company. The safest way is to arrange it from your insurance agent for a couple of days today. Saying that, it might make sense to change the insurance in general. Quite often the Oman insurance goes together with an offroad insurance that could be helpful in case of any incident happening.
