  1. Check a2b, they have a really good knowledge!
  2. I had the same idea to import one from Germany and had the same fear. I think the emission was only for he TD5. RTA would tell, I couldn't find anything negative yet. Shipping is quite cheap and you get the VAT back if buying from a dealer. Not to bad at the end. Do you have any new findings? Maybe we can import together, not sure if it's cheaper then?
  3. True, it's already hot. A few guys go early in the morning, but half asleep I can't really enjoy. And on top of that I need to find a proper car again. Not that easy, but I pray for July. Then in for the Wadi as well. A bit more far away in Oman it's even better and quite nice with the temperature, but requires to stay over night. So, I'll get a Landy again and we just go. Deal.
  4. Indeed a bummer! I wanted to order one begin of the year but the sales person was quite surprised that he couldn't do so. He told something about regulations of import and Saudi, but that didnt sound that convincing. And the Defender now also disappeared from the Land Rover Middle East Website. Thats really a shame since I had a crash with mine unfortnately and now willing to buy a new one. SInce the 110 double cab is rarely available as a used one the other option would be to buy a new one. There are here and there older other models on Dubizzle, but rather old ones from 2001 or 2002. I would rather go for a TD5 2005/2006 or a 2009 or younger one. Will go to Al Tayer the next days to figure out whats going on.
  5. Hey Mario, you are right. It's as easy and could also work on short notice once we know each others. My car just crashed and I need to get a new one first...then definitely in. But the heat is in as well already... Where are you located and how experienced are you?
  6. Hi, Does anyone know why it's not possible anymore to buy a new Defender in the UAE? Looking to buy a new one (unless someone knows a >2009 110 Doublecab for sale...). Manuel
  7. Hi, brought my Landy to a2b in Al Quoz, a really good service! A lot of know how about the car and especially the engine, which is rare in Dubai. Can recommend them! Manuel
  8. Hehe, I kind of knew that Not sure how experienced you guys are, what you are looking for and I would also like to explore other regions. I'm kind of going every weekend, always on different levels. Would be good to have a group of people where one experienced one can show new areas. I'm not the best in navigating thru unexplored areas and don't want to ride all of us into a hell of an experience
  9. Hi, are there any trips organized I can join? Best, Manuel
  10. Hi, I heard that Al Tayer is not that good when it's about Land Rover Defender service? Is there any other recommendation? Thanks for any advice!
