i am a owner of a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse mileage: 50,000 km
my eclipse pings when I accelerate, and especially when I climb.
It also tends to do this when my rpm's drop after my automatic transmission switches to a higher gear such as third or fourth. I've already checked the ignition timing, and it's correct, I've replaced my plugs and wires.
My cylinder head was just replaced in 2009. What are some of the causes of this problem.
as i have searched the web if somebody had a similar issue but could not find anything.
thanks

Head gasket is gone, if smoke is white and power loss is noticeable.
Its a big fix, get to serious mechanic and get it change. Be ready to have few 1000's hole in ur pocket. (2k - 3k).
