I had very bad experience with AGMC yesterday.

Apparently, A/C compressor on my X5 needs replacements and they quoted me for 10000 DHS where only compresoor is 7300 DHS.

Needles to say, i have paid for A/C testing 1200 DHS.

On top of everything, they do not have it on stock so i need to wait 10 days to have it shipped from Germany.

Very surprising considering this is Dubai and temperatures are above 40.....

As fortune would have it, friend of mine is in Germany now and she checked with BMW there.

Price for new compressor is 930 Euro which is 4200 DHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This looks like a cheat to me.....

Also called Munich motor works and they do have part on stock and it will cost 6200 DHS(all inclusive, with original BMW part) to fix it.

Now who is the importer of BMW here and why AGMC does not have integral parts for their cars readily available?

Why the are charging 3100 extra for a spare part?

Now i am questioning is it really compressor.

Will have it checked again somewhere else for sure.

Any thoughts about above?

I did A/C check in AGMC which will cost me 1200 and verdict is compressor.

They are asking me for 10000 DHS to put a new one and i need to wait 10 days since part is not available in UAE so they need to ship it from Germany(stupid, considering that this is Middle East and temperatures are 40+).

Called Munichworks, they have it and cost for whole shebang is 6200.

Who is crazy here?

I am newbie owner of BMW and would like to know is AGMC workshop most expensive one and is there any alternate workshops where one can go.

A/C is gone on my BMW and AGMC is quoting 1200 only for check.

Please help me.

Its too hot outside to drive without A/C.
