Service recall for a limited number of 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Light Duty and GMC Sierra Light Duty vehicles.
In coordination with the Ministry of Economy -Department of Consumer Protection, and in line with the directives of the Ministry of Economy, to conduct an ongoing review of all products in the UAE to provide the consumer with the required protection, General Motors announces a service recall for 2014 Chevrolet Silverado Light Duty and GMC Sierra Light Duty vehicles from 17th September 2017.
These vehicles may experience a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist followed by a sudden return of EPS assist. The loss and sudden return of EPS assist typically happens within a one-second period and is caused by an electrical/software issue.
General Motors have taken the decision jointly with the Ministry of Economy to launch a maintenance campaign to inspect the vehicles involved in the UAE and, if required, complete the necessary repairs to ensure customers' peace of mind.
The vehicles are safe to drive and customers who own models for which the last eight digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) fall into the range below, will soon be contacted by a General Motor's dealer to arrange a convenient time for the repair work.
